Key Milestones

So far, we have:

Cultivated 1,252 dunums of vegetables with 680 farming families, comprising a total of 4,216 individuals.
Produced 6,260 tons of fresh vegetables.
Rehabilitated 17 greenhouses.
Rehabilitated 2 agricultural wells serving 6,000 individuals.
Provided fishing nets to 30 fisherfolk.

FAQ

What are the project objectives?

The occupation uses food as a means for subjugation, displacement and now genocide. In Gaza, at least 75% of agricultural land has been systematically destroyed increasing dependence on external parties to secure food.
Our “Revive Gaza’s Farmland” project was launched to:
1. Boost local production to create food sovereignty and thus political sovereignty
2. Enhance food security and nutrition
3. Improve water security
4. Promote income-generating projects

How are inputs secured?

By procuring them locally as well as externally through international organisations.

How will you carry out the project despite the bombardment and blockade?

Despite the systematic destruction, some farmers have persevered in cultivating and providing food to local markets. Given the seriousness of the security situation and the blockade, the project will be implemented in phases based on key factors, namely mobility and access, resource availability and farmers' needs on the ground.

How will we plant under water scarcity?

We will use irrigation water that is arable and available in Gaza.

Where will we plant?

Across Gaza’s five governorates: North Gaza, Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, Khan Younis, Rafah.

What is our administrative cost?

We allocate 5% for our administrative costs.

What about land contaminated by chemical weapons?

It is in the subsequent stages of our plan.

What if one of these farms is destroyed?

We will replant them along with other new farms.

How many farmers will benefit from the project?

3,100 families supporting more than 19,220 individuals. The project aims to generate 7,200 job opportunities, each playing a vital role in project implementation and sustainability

The war imposed a dim reality, so we started our project amidst the bombardment. Like our farmers' strength, the crops broke through the cracks of the rubble.

We Will Cultivate Every Last Inch

Despite the siege, constant bombing, and rampant destruction, Gazan farmers remained on their land. It is our responsibility to back them up.

Effective Water Management Amidst the Reality of War

We help farmers utilize every water droplet meant for farming by extending networks of irrigation, construction of farm ponds, and installation of pumps.
