UWM Accessibility Resource Center

Our Mission

The Accessibility Resource Center at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee is dedicated to providing equal access for disabled students to the University’s academic, social, cultural and recreational programs. We provide comprehensive services and accommodations for disabled students, as well as outreach and support to faculty and staff. The Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible University experience for all students.

The UWM Accessibility Resource Center aligns with the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) concept of disability informed by social justice and with the AHEAD statement on language. Specifically, ARC is adopting and encouraging the use of identity-first language across all communication, information, and materials.

Manage Accommodations

ARC students can manage their accommodations and disability related services through their student portal, ARConnect.

Media Accessibility

With the increase in online courses and use of media in course curriculum, ARC provides services to ensure media, such as YouTube and pre-recorded lectures, is accessible.

ARC Student Hub

Stop into the hub and check out the sensory spaces or the activity room, settle in with a good book in the reading nook, decompress from all the stress.

Request Presentation or Participation

ARC provides education, awareness, and outreach to the UWM student and staff population as well as to affiliated UWM community members.

If you encounter a building or a campus accessibility barrier, please alert UWM Facility Services. Email our office as well, so we can alert other students in ARC.
