.. As a young girl, Umbra was taught the ways of the natural healing arts by her mother. Their village was small and her family's cottage was located in the forest that was outside the village. Her mother said it was closer to their ingredients while also keeping their privacy.

At a young age, Umbra became an expert in natural healing and was sent to the local mage for more formal lessons in magic just like her mother. Her natural affinity to magic made her the top student, surpassing even students that are many years her senior. Her mother was so proud of her and when she came of age, her mother gifted her, her grandmother's grimoire which became her prized possession.

But sadly, not all was peaceful. The dark age has come to their doorstep; once loyal patrons and past patients have turned their backs on them; called the witches (which wasn't a lie) and demanded them to burn. Witch hunts had spread fast like their fire pyres. Umbra's mother sent her away to hide and to wait out these awful hunts if they would ever end.

Many would assume that Umbra's heart would grow dark with hatred of those hunters; but the opposite occurred. There are those still in need of healing and magic, even if they do not want to acknowledge it. Over time they will and these dark events will be an awful history.
