Silver Remnant Evangelion Update
General | Posted 2 years agoFirst off, allow me to address the drought - Yeah. I know. Honestly, Chapter 4 was not working how I wanted it to work and as such, I'm going to try and redo Chapter 3 and 4 together.
Second off, while I still plot to continue working on this project... with the rights of the franchise in the air thanks to David Zaslov (speak his name with venomous intonation) and his """""infinite wisdom""""" to shut down Rooster Teeth, I am putting the series on hold until RWBY has a solid home and either a continuance of the Rooster Teeth fan works policies in place, or a new one that is just as permissive as the old.

LadyLightest and I have put our collective brains together once more. I'm proud to say that we are once again moving to work on our Lusty Utopia with a retcon and fresh slate. Both of us are also opening the setting up to all writers and artists in hopes we can create one of the largest settings that can be shared, derived, and further disseminated. I'll be making a few touchups on the initial setting document and post it shortly. My Writing Flow

## Introduction
Hello all. Just wanted to post something so that you all aren't wondering where the first story for The Round Table of Pleasure is. It's still in the works -
LadyLightest seems to have her work cut out for her and I will wait patiently until the day on which we can collaborate together. I'm wanting to share my own writing workflow with you all, just something I think that many of you might find interesting.
I'm a fan of Open Source Software. As such, a good portion of my programs are such - even the applications I enjoy on Windows.
The programs I primarily use for writing is Neovim, which is a super version of the vi text editor. It does work well on Windows, especially in Windows Terminal. I do have a few plugins - primarily a few distraction free plugins and org.vim, which I will be touching on below.
## Organization
Like many starting points, it's always good to be organized. As such, I use org-mode, an organization format made with use for the Emacs editor, but can be used with almost any editor. In fact, Visual Studio Code has it's own org-mode plugin. As for me, I use org.vim, which provides the organizational layout of org-mode to write down the outline of my stories or even journal posts, like this one.
## Prototyping
Once I have everything organized, I then go to use Markdown to get basic markup taken care of. Markdown itself is a "What You See Is What You Mean" layout for HTML, but can be easily parsed into any other sort of document format, especially with a converter like Pandoc. Passing the markdown into pandoc with a proper output file gives me a file I can then further refactor.
## Refactoring
I take the output from Pandoc, which is a .tex file, and put into TeXworks. A .tex file is a special text preprocessor file with macros to properly typeset text. The TeX format was written by mathematician Donald Knuth back in the 70s and is still maintained today by both him and people who have made their own versions, like XeLaTeX, which is the version I use, due to the fancy fontspec package, which allows me to define my own fonts for use using TrueType formats. (I love using Garamond as my serifed font. Thank Apple for that.)
In any case, I take this .tex file and put it into TeXworks, which allows me to preview the document and make changes to make it look right.
## Publish
Once I'm happy with the way it looks, I take the compiled preview and make it my final version. If I'm wanting an epub version of the document, I run one off with Pandoc, as it has native epub compilation.
## End
It is a lot of work, I'll give you that, but in this case, the end really does justify the means. I'm left with a beautiful PDF document and a file I can use on an e-reader of my choice.

I've come to make an announcement...
General | Posted 5 years agoAnd no, it's not that Shadow the Hedgehog is a bitch-ass motherfucker...
It's that I've begun working with the lovely
LadyLightest on a new setting, based on the concept of bimbo goddesses. Right now, there is a story in the works. After that will come a Shared Setting Guide for those who wish to create and adapt characters to the world. I love sharing these little worlds with all who want to participate in their own way. We've been working hard these past few days already on the foundation of the new buxom world as well as the Round Table of Pleasure, which would be the pantheon of the world itself. I can't wait to unveil things once ready.

General | Posted 5 years agoRecently, we were all witness to a grievous thing. George Floyd's death has been something that has sparked wildfires of emotions across the world - some folks are exercising their right to peaceably assemble, granted to them by the First Amendment of the US Constitution. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those folks.
1. I'm an uber-introvert
2. These protests have gone quickly from peaceable to riotous in minutes.
As such, for my safety, I stay home. But I know I can't sit down and say what was done was right. I'm my own person - I can't speak for Floyd or his actions. However, being mortal, I do know that the situation wasn't handled in the right way. This has caused quite the shift of thinking, with some people calling all cops 'racist bastards' and damning the police force with threats of abolition and defunding.
I ACKNOWLEDGE:
1. No man is perfect. It's written in Romans 3:10 - "There is none righteous, no, not one."
2. The Badge and Blue has given racist assholes an air of being above the law.
I see this generalization stated above as a bit overreaching, inspired by grief and pain through the situation we have witnessed. There are some days I wonder how the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. would respond to this. I wonder if he'd still reiterate his ideal moment from his dream, where we all can stand together, hand in hand - man, woman; adult, child; regardless of the color of our skin.
Racism is not going to go away. It's always going to be a deep seeded part of us. I find these hideous beasts within myself. However, the longer I know you, the easier it is to punch it aside and reach out to another fellow human being out of peace and friendship.
I can't say much more. I've just got a lot. Thanks for... well... reading.

On Release Anxiety and Fantasy Flight Games...
General | Posted 7 years agoI love RPG books. I thoroughly enjoy the Star Wars Legends canon.
The rules, the classes, the weapons, the spells... Everything about RPGs. Let's not forget about Grand Admiral Thrawn, Lumiya, Mara Jade Skywalker, the twins Jacen and Jaina, the Darksaber...
So, when I saw that Fantasy Flight Games was re-releasing the WEG d6 Star Wars Sourcebook and Rulebook, I went to my local gaming store and pre-ordered a copy. Mind you, this boxed set was already a month late. The release date for the books was Q4 2017. They don't seem to have any date set, which allows them to pull this kind of stuff. In one week, it would have been 5 months since it has been 'on the boat'. They have not communicated well and they have no excuse as to why it is late.
Lesson: Don't pre-order Fantasy Flight.
