AI Usage (G)
In this new year I felt as If more Transparency is needed. The whole Discussion about AI in the Art Space is ongoing and there are many different opinions.
So I think since many people have different and strong opinions about it, I share mine as someone who has explored that Subject.
First of all: I think AI does not produce Art. Those are generated images, with no soul based on the work of actual Artists. Since people who use generative AI call themselves "AI Artists" I think that whole lined got blurred when it comes to Art and Images. Or possibly even earlier when modern art started to declare anything as art since the viewer decides what Art is and so the whole meaning got pretty swampy. Anyways: AI is not a replacement for Artists.
I myself enjoy working with references I can use as a base for my own Works. Poses from video game characters or Movie Scenes. Only the poses and only as a rough sketch. I trace the lines of the pose and then put clothes on it I enjoy, change it to my sona or my friends sonas, and so on. Change species bla bla bla. I still use a base image as a pose-template.
So I have also started to use AI generated images as a template for poses. And as such I started using AI images as a tool.
I know that the mention alone of any influence of AI in espcially artistic processes is enough for people to be turned off, which is why I mention it now: I use AI as a tool to get a template for poses if I am not using other pose reference from other sources.
I say I still make my own thing out of it, working hours on the pieces I do and change alot, but since this is such a heated topic, transparentcy is the only thing that made sense.
So you got that information now and If that is a a reason for anyone to not enjoy my stuff anymore, I get that. I enjoy using AI as a tool these days for pose templates and use it to visualize my own ideas. I enjoy AI as a tool and am against it as a replacement for actual Artists and actual Art.
