In case anyone who reads this thinks "we're here for porn, not politics," politics has been injected into the porn when the ruling party here in the U.S. wants to ban all porn. Politics was injected into this community when the ruling party used the furry community as a stand-in for transphobia (remember the "litter boxes in schools" propaganda?). Besides, this is my page, and I'll do what I fucking please. The reality is that many in the furry community are queer, or autistic, or differently abled, and even if you aren't, American conservatives see furries as deeply perverse; we're all in a group they'd like to see stop existing. First and foremost, though, don't stop existing. Fuck them, they don't deserve your surrender.

American businesses are already reeling from the expected tariffs. Private prison stocks have skyrocketed at the expected increase in prisoners. Musk has openly admitted he plans to crash the economy, likely to make crypto more valuable and to further consolidate wealth and power into the remaining megacorporations as the crash burns out small businesses. Right wing men are already bragging about their power over women with phrases like "your body, my choice," high profile conservatives who will likely have a place in the administration are openly discussing dragging their political opponents through the streets and into prisons, or worse. We are about to wade into a hell that some parts of the world have seen before, but this country hasn't, not in a long time, not quite like this, and not with the tools of surveillance available to the modern fascist. The bleak truth is I may vanish into an unmarked van in the coming years. Or my family might, my friends might. I'm not in immediate danger (I think?) and I'm not without escape routes and self defense options. But one thing I am sure of is I will be spending every ounce of my time and energy simply trying to survive and keep myself, my family, my community safe.

I'm not going to delete my page (yet) but I will no longer be writing. If you already have my Discord, cool. I'm not deleting it for now either but I may or may not respond to you. It's not personal, but trust is thin these days by necessity, and so is my energy. I'll keep my Telegram up but the same is true there. It's probably a fool's errand but I have to consider culling my digital pawprint wherever I can.

It's been a hell of a time, y'all. Thanks to everyone who commissioned me, who watched me, who favorited a writing or even just read it and moved on. I've enjoyed it and I don't like making this decision, but life will be a string of exceptionally difficult decisions from here on out and this one isn't even the first I've needed to make this week.

Build your communities. Keep each other safe. And never talk to the fucking cops.
