Getting into the groove of a different workflow ever since Myenia and I changed things up a little. It's no big secret, but I may as well mention it here. . . Myenia has started a family and we've had to shift around the way we work on the comic in order to make things work for both of us. Rest assured, she's staying on the project, though :) I've seen a lot of talk out there concerning the future of the comic (and a lot of incorrect assumptions) and I don't want you guys to worry. Things aren't CHANGING, per se, we've just had to make some workload adjustments. Hopefully you won't notice any major issues that will affect your enjoyment of the pages!
Pages should come more frequently, but in chunks now. Expect a new page very soon!

Only to a point. They respect him because he has the Church backing him. Anger the Church and you are in big trouble. However that does not mean that they cannot snipe at Johannes re his background (commoner) and heritage (not a pedigree breed)
Take away Johannes status as a Knight and he will be nothing in their eyes.
Worse - Johannes respects Luther and it will be seen to them that this respect is the 'commoners' ganging up on the pedigree's - rather than respect based on deed's

Singh is too arrogant and full of his own breeding importance to take any note from Johannes. The best way to understand this is to see Singh as a Republican Tea-Party politician. So full of their own belief in themselves that they can see no wrong in their argument. And upon failure it was the men, the ships etc.. Never their own strategy.
Remember - Singh is the books fellow. He has read much in Naval history and so can remember a strategy that works. I am not sure how good he is at coming up with a NEW one. Remember Johannes reaction to Luther's trick do dumping the cannons to lighten the ship thus preventing the enemies boarding ramps to be deployed. That action would go against EVERY naval rule - and yet it worked.
Would Singh do the same or stick to what was tried before and fight to the last cannon shot.

Fully agree with paragraph 1 :)
I think that Singh faces the same problem I had when I was younger, which is being very "book smart" but lacking in real-world experience. Now to start off with I'm the last one who will rip on "book smarts" - you gotta have both to be truly effective - but theory and practice are often two very different things. Singh is correct in that a leader should step back and see "the big picture", but one cannot be an effective leader without experiencing being "in the trenches" oneself (hence the problem with "Pedigree" and nobility in general - they can't see what's going on in the real world from atop their high horses).
Being well-versed in conventional military history (especially, in this case, siege tactics and naval surface warfare) would be helpful if they were fighting against an enemy similar to the belligerents referenced in the historical text, like Carvecians or other Amurescans. The Cathazra, however, are completely unlike anything the Amurescans have ever fought before - hell they've got an air force! The books on how to fight the Cathazra have not been written yet (Lucius and his peers would have been the ones to write a treatise on the subject), so the only thing to go by is actual experience - Cuthbert and Luther have actually gone toe-to-toe with the Cathazra and lived to tell of it. Someone like Singh who is unwilling to get his hands dirty and actually learn about this new enemy has no chance of victory.
