this lurker usualy walks on fours. with elongated arms, it lopes around the forest. from behind a bush it looks deceptively like a normal deer. its large gnarly antlers drawing the eyes of would be hunters. but this deer does not flee as they advance, in fact its interested. the hunters think its their lucky day to find such a dumb deer, but then it comes out from behind the brush. it rears upwards revealing its enormous height. long spider like fingers hang from its wrists, ribs jut out from its chest horrificaly, bizzare antlers growing out of its body. and as their legs become jelly at its sight, it opens its mouth unsettlingly wide into a horror of fanged teeth. a nightmarish grin.
it produces a lantern from behind it and places it at their feet before looking up at them with slitted eyes as it backs up and whispers in a gutteral cracking voice
"........run...."

they stalk in the shadows, and feed on peoples souls before devouring their bodies.
the more terror they instill in the person, the faster and more they can feed on their victims souls.
they all come with their own unique lantern, the Lantern posesses a special flame that is actualy sucking the soul of the one carrying it.
they dont eat often, but when they do. they pick a victim and they give them the lantern

the beast gives them the lantern and so long as it is lit...they will not harm them
but the only way to fuel the lantern is with fear
so they literally force them to be scared, because they think if it goes out they die
when the flame dies out when the person either runs out of fear, or is ready to be eaten
and either way. once the flame dies...you die
it enjoys the long hunt, and they tend to keep to the shadows. their skin is sensitive to the suns light so they are most active at night. they can manifest from any shadow, day or night.
