Valcione grit her teeth as her holo-display swapped from navigation to targeting mode, and bloomed with reticles, line-of-fire indicators, maneuvering predictions, and streams of targeting data, and, for a moment, she felt like the spiral path those lines had traced was drawing her in like a maelstrom, closer and closer to The Enemy. This was it! The Afterimage had locked its jaws around its target, and there would be no escape.
I cannot remember the last time I got a commission like this one. It was very fun to do and the lighting effects really make everything around Valcione pop. As a little bonus I added an outside view of the ship she is in to show the viewer what she is doing.

That´s a friggen big gun for a single pilot fighter. Kinda reminds me of the beam weapon Spikes ship had in Cowboy Bebob. Also, you can pretty much feels how Val is racking her brain her to make heads and tails out of all those HUDs, pretty much growling "I just wanna blast em allready!". At least for me, that is.^^°
I really like the composition, and of course the way you handled the coloring and lighting effects. Personally, I'm not too fond of Holographic displays, but that's me. I spent way too much time reading John DeChancie's "Starrigger-Red Limit freeway" series and holo controls give me the Heebie Jeebies. Still... Incredible detailing throughout the image, great handling of textures, and the posing of the figure implies great action, Anime style.
