A bald boy named Jody went off to visit the remote shrine, facing the tropical coast far from a hill, on an annual basis. He paid tribute by burning grass stalks as the shrine was build on a fire-based myth.
One day, Jody visited the same shrine and started burning grass stalks, as usual. Unbeknownst to him, some unknown yet mystical entity flying under a direct sunlight watched over him. Considering how well Jody was committed to perform such a sacred tribute, the entity sent a fireball onto a human boy.
As the fireball became closer, its noise was loud enough for Jody to pause from fully burning few stalks. He approached the cliffside fence as he came to look closer at a fireball. Realizing what it was, Jody ran and hid behind the shrine, but the fireball turned around and hit him. But instead of burning him, it flew inside his chest, much to his shock and confusion. For few seconds Jody began to experience a calm and soothing feeling, to the point of going to take a nap, not knowing what the mystical entity had in mind for Jody.
Jody woke up sometime later, opening eyes to find himself still in a shrine, but then he looked at his hands, now turned into hooves attached to his orange-furred arms. Realizing the changes, he ran off the shrine and went for a nearby rock pond to see the reflection. He saw his own face having become beyond recognition, for he had grown much fur around his head. After down on his feet, he recognized his new form: Tepig.
He liked his new transition but felt he wanted more, like a full Pokemon form. So he picked up his lighter to burn a last stalk, only to remember what Tepig could do, so he blew fire into the same stalk with his pig snout.
Watching how satisfied Jody was in that state, the mystical entity sent another fireball at him again. This time Jody turned to the sky, only to notice a fireball being made. It flew into him, but his body, as well as his clothes, began glow and shapeshift into a regular Tepig, much to his joy. Despite losing his strength to carry his backpack, he was happy to have Tepig's powers, but he also felt that there would be more difficult challenges, now that he was no longer human. So as the bottom half of a burning stalk was being consumed in the shrine, Jody left the place, but not without struggling to pull his backpack. All in the while, the mystical entity disappeared.
NOTE:
-Jody is owned by JacobLovesYoshi, but I designed the human form for his character because he doesn't have one.
-The shrine on the left is technically based on a Thai-style Spirit House, so as this area.
