This creature design started off as a small joke between me and an IRL friend of mine where they said something along the way of "can you imagine a bird with hooves?" to which... I saw it as a challenge and drew an initial, simplified doodle of a hoofed bird. After doing that I got tempted to make an actual creature out of it.
Ladies, gentlemen, and others, I present you the Trampleavis! This terrestrial bird species runs through open grasslands at high speeds, avoiding predators through nimble maneuvers and, if need be, fending them off with powerful kicks and strikes from its massive beak. It travels between groves of trees in search of nuts and tough fruit.
So yeah, this is pretty much proof that I can make even a joke-design work in some way, shape, or form.
