In the Realm of Dreams, dangerous creatures lurk within the ever changing shadows; monsters uncomprehendable on the mortal plane. These monsters feast on hope, despair, sadness, dreams, and sanity itself, or even all at once! But there is one beast that stands out from the rest without being recognized.
Unlike the others, this beast feasted on fear. It hunted, traveling from dream to dream, terrorizing those asleep without allowing them to wake up.
And thus he would feast, devouring the fear from the exhausted dreamer before they fade back into the waking world. But they would be alive, waking up and complaining about how they "didn't sleep". A cup of coffee and a sugary treat will revitalize them, for they are not the lucid dreamers. Those dreamers who've regained consciousness while being unconscious. The ones who wield the weapon of knowledge to bend their section of realm to their whim. But specifically it's those that hunt, that seek out other dreams and monsters.
Those dreamers, those foolish dreamers. The ignorant and arrogant dreamers who fight back and defeat the beast within his realm will find the waking one no longer safe. Ragnar will be there in the shadows, stalking his prey as he hid away from the light, for that is not his world. One night, perhaps the next day, a week, or even a month from now, Ragnar will cross over into the physical realm, our home.
The dreamer will have no option for egress or means to fight back. The beast crossed over with one determined goal in mind: Revenge. And thus Ragnar will hunt and slaughter and devour them messily before disappearing back to his realm once more. But this is not the moment of such spectacular visceral. This dream is quiet with the dead of winter and snow covering the ground. There is no blood, no anger, no graphical display of wrath. But on the beast's muzzle, a smile shows.
For he caught his quarry in the Realm of Dreams. Perhaps this victim has been struck with such horror and fear that they practically experienced a heart attack in the waking world. Perhaps this "victim" is but a prop, maybe one assisting willingly, to terrorize another.
No one knows.

Ragnar.
Unlike the others, this beast feasted on fear. It hunted, traveling from dream to dream, terrorizing those asleep without allowing them to wake up.
Shadows creeping where light should be shining.
An uneasy feeling of dread no matter which light one stands under.
The instinct of being watched.
Movements out of the corner of one's eye, coming closer.
Hope becomes worry, worry becomes fear, fear becomes terror. And thus he would feast, devouring the fear from the exhausted dreamer before they fade back into the waking world. But they would be alive, waking up and complaining about how they "didn't sleep". A cup of coffee and a sugary treat will revitalize them, for they are not the lucid dreamers. Ragnar's favorites. Those dreamers, those foolish dreamers. The ignorant and arrogant dreamers who fight back and defeat the beast within his realm will find the waking one no longer safe. Then the hunt begins. The dreamer will have no option for egress or means to fight back. The beast crossed over with one determined goal in mind: Revenge.
