This story is dedicated to my best friend of so many years. It was a privilege to have known him for most of my life. I miss him dearly.

i do enjoy how it doesn't define what the bridge (death) is exactly, nor how it effects certain people, it leaves up just slightly vague enough to apply your own religious or personal experiences on the thoughts.
it also states that sometimes death is simply fast and quick, and sometimes its slow and drawn out, as is the chaos of life. of course the simple fact it happens to all drives us insane.
had a friend, his own stubbornness forced him to cross the bridge. we tried an intervention, no luck. never drink alcohol with seizure medication. i don't know your story nor am i sure my advice is applicable, but just know there are some people you can't help. some people just can't be reasoned with or are too far down the line to change. others even your presence at the bridge cannot help the journey to be easier. all you can do is try to help where you can and try to make all the existential problems we deal with easier on a person, anything beyond that is better not to overthink about.

Thanks. Was actually after writing this for one friend that I realized the metaphor applied to several of my past friends who 'crossed the bridge' so to speak. Each was different but each fits the story. It would just need retelling to fit their own path. Crazy world.
