Link and the Mask of the Lynels By Sindragon
Link and the world of Hyrule are owned by Nintendo.

Goron City

Link grumble to himself as he had been stuck in Central Hyrule for a good few weeks now due to these annoying creatures called Lynels. Who were huge beast-like creatures that carried massive axes and could crush him like a bug like they had tried many times before?

Leading to a very frustrated Link, who was walking around a small village selling all kinds of items. But most of it would not help him get past the Lynels and get one step closer defeating Ganondorf and saving Hyrule from his evilness.

But something then caught his eyesight a shop selling Magic masks, causing him to shiver a bit remembering a certain mask from his past. But that was a pure cursed one not all were like that one right?

Plus he was desperate to get past the Lynels too carried on his quest, as he then place his Master sword on his back to walk over to the shop.

The shopkeeper a Hylian let out a welcoming smile to Link as he walked into his shop, as he watched the Elf shop around his many masks.

“ Ah welcome young one may I ask what are you looking for?” The shopkeeper asked Link in a friendly tone.

“Haaa hi!” Link responded to him, as he carried on looking at the many masks.

“OK?” The shopkeeper replied annoyed at Link's response.
Link rolled his eyes before seeing what he was after a Lynel mask! Strangely its fur was browner than the normal black fur of the Lynel creatures. Also, it had an earring on its right ear. It look cool as he picked it up, the shopkeeper walk over to him.

“ Ah yes the Lynel mask, it has the power to trick other Lynel into thinking that you are one of them. So leaving you alone to go on with whatever task you want to do. An only for the low 10,000 Rupess.” The Shopkeeper said to Link.

Link just looks at him grubling a bit as pulling on a rope holding a bag of Rupees before giving it to the shopkeeper and taking the Lynel mask with him.

Leaving a disgruntled shopkeeper behind him who glared at the rude elf before smirking evilly.

“ Ah too bad, I was going to tell him the mask has a massive side effect but ehhh he will learn soon enough hahhhhhhhaaa!” The shopkeeper laughs to himself as walks back into his shop with his money.

As he looks at the disappearing elf with the cursed Lynel mask with him.

3 hours later, Lynel territory

Link had finally returned to the Lynel territory, he then pulled out the Lynel mask he had bought just a few hours ago. While looking at it Link started to have second thoughts about this whole idea.

Before hearing loud noises as he turns around to see 15 Lynels walking around while growing at each other as the Sunlight shines out their many axes.

Just his luck, he just can't keep getting stuck here he needs to carry on with his quest. Link then once more look at the mask face, as look at him soullessly.

Link grumble to himself, as he heard the Lynel noises get closer to him, as he looks up to see them walking over to him.

Thinking quickly Link with a sigh put the Lynel mask on before they got too close to him, as he watches one larger black-furred Lynel walk closer to him before stopping as it just looks at him.

Link then froze as he looks at Lynel who look at him. Link then grips his master sword ready to attack it. But it just stops making a few noises to him before walking away surprising Link.

It worked! Link thought to himself happily, as he moved slowly onwards surprised to see no aggressive response from them like in the past, he had dealt with them before.

Deciding to try it once more to see what would happen. Link then moved forward into the territory of the Lynel. While keeping a lookout for the huge creatures. But like before they didn’t attack him just looked at him and carried on talking in their language.

Thank the gods! Link thought to himself, as he moved onwards while looking through the mask that he was getting more comfortable wearing almost forgetting he had it on.


Thou something was happening to Link since he put on the mask, he was getting bigger by the second, not only that other things were happening to the elf.

Blonde fur was starting to grow on him, without Link knowing since he was too busy being pleased, that he was making progress into the Lynel territory.

Hmmm maybe I should go back to that shop later for more masks to deal with other creatures' problems.! Link thought to himself with a smile.

After a good few hours, Link was near the end border of the Lynel territory, but he was sweating now from all the walking which was strange for him. Since he was used to long-distance walking as well the Lynel were getting smaller further, he walked into their territory strangely.

Also, why was he itchy as well? It had started about an hour ago and slowly got more annoying to him. Had something fallen into his clothes to cause the itching problems? Also, this mask was not helping his eyesight to look at the rest of his body.

Link then spotted a river causing him to smile, as a quick wash will help out the itching problem. Plus, he should take the mask off now since he was pretty much out of the Lynel territory.

As Link walked over to the lake to wash himself, only to be spooked by his reflection seeing brown fur growing on his arms.
Link started to freak out more but the sounds that came out of his voice were not his normal voice but more like a hybrid of his and a Lynel. What was going on? Link thought to himself as he started to panic and freak out more.

This caused the Lynel around him to look curiously at Link as he tried to take the mask off as it must have been causing this problem. But as his hands touch the mask, he felt like a bolt of electric shoot right through him causing him to let out a yell of pain.

He then collapsed to the ground by the lake in pain, as he then felt some warmth around his face as Link felt the mask moulding onto his face. But it didn’t hurt it just felt warm almost like he had a bit too much of the rice wine.

As this was going on a magic glow formed around him, as the sounds of ripping cotton was heard, as Link's clothes wearing being pulled apart from the quick growth of the fur growing onto his body.

Link was still in a fetal potion not feeling his body starting to change but luckily for Link is not in a painful way. More of a numbing feeling for him.

Link then manages to lift his head to look up to the red skies what? As well Link was shocked seeing the moon but instead normal stone colour. It was now a blood red and seem to be causing the blood-red sky.

Link started to freak out more as he tried to stand up but crashed back down into the dirt, but the force of the impact made by his hand pressed a good 2 feet into the wet mud. Link panted deeply trying to calm himself it was just a full moon that was red and not going to come crashing down to kill everyone!

Once he got over his panic attack, he went to pull his hands out only to see pair of muddy paws!

WHAT!

Link grunted in a more animal way and went to wash his paws that use to be his hands but now was a blond fur colour, with sharp black claws shining at him. While his blue jacket had turned into armour over his hands and arms.

Link grunted as he moved his now paws to the mask, but to his shock, the mask had disappeared well kind of. It was not there anymore since it seemed to fuse onto his face completely.
While looking at his reflection his face was covered in light brown fur colour while having a Spikey gold blonde mane like the mask he had bought from the shop. He then touched his face, as he then felt real fur instead of a painted mask.
Link then open his mouth to see very sharp fangs while he brushed his goatee mane with his claws. Strange what else has changed Link thought to himself as he moved to look at the rest of his body to see his ripped clothes around him. But with a very muscle-built stomach now, he never looked that good before.

The fur on his chest now was like his face a light brown with a bit of blue he guessed what was part of his jacket had moulded into his new look. Which strangely he was enjoying now.

Better than his old form well it was as Link snorted to himself. While thinking that maybe whatever the mask or moon or both was doing to him was not a bad thing after all.

But also, he swore the lake was bigger than it was a few seconds ago. Link grunted as moved to see and watch his 2 feet glow and then clone themselves so he now had 4 legs he then watches them glow bright red. As he then felt his body structure turns into a more feral state aka like a Lynel.

Link watched his feet morph into a set of hoofs like a Lynel had themselves. As the hoofs themselves were black and above them was a blue cloth wrapped around all 4 legs and like his new body was light brown fur above that as well.

Link grunted as he tried to stand up, but was struggling while getting used to his new hoof legs but after a while, he had gotten used to it. As he panted deeply looking around surprised at how much better he could see now since it was dark now. His eyesight was just as good as it was in the morning as Link could see the large Cliffs that stop him from climbing before. Since they were now a good 200ft below him.

WAIT! BELOW HIM!


Link was shocked about this since these were huge cliffs around 150ft tall and they were all around the edge of this Lynel territory. But now look like small hills below him.

He like it thou as Link smiled to himself, as he looks down at the tiny lake now compare to his impressive new body. Link then bared his fangs as the lake reflect his new very buffed muscle body, as he flexed in his reflection of the lake. While walking around as the sound of his hoofs crashes into the wet mud. As well Link was picking up the scent of the mud and wet grass around him. Which surprised him on how much better smell he could pick up now.

Link one more look at the red moon glowing in a more warming embrace to him now, was this a gift from the gods to Stop Galfof once and for all and to bring peace to Hyrule?

Hmm, plus he could have some fun dealing with other enemies that caused him problems in the past. Since who was now going to stop him?

He was even now as large as the Gods, and they were not to be a mess with him so no one would mess with him, right? But he did need weapons like the other Lynel had, as grunted at first before his eyes lit up to see the Master's sword and his shield by the lake. But instead of being tiny things compared to him. They were now huge and easy 100ft long was his fav sword the Master's sword and his trusted shield look about 50ft wide, as he smiled picking them both up before strapping his shield on his back, as he looks at the Master sword as it reflected his new body.

Cool! Link thought to himself before turning around to see tiny specs below him, as his fluffy ear pick up noise, as his far better eyesight saw the specs were a large group of Lynels who were bowing to him what!

Before Link could work out what was going on, the now tiny Lynel alpha started to speak to him and instead of snares and growls were words he could understand!

“Oh great Alpha we submit to your ways and beliefs and do what you ask! We only ask you to protect us oH great one!” The Lynel said to him which sounded female to Link as she moved back in line with the other tiny Lynels.

Once more Link new senesce of smell picked up the sweet scent of the female Lynel who talked. Which Link liked a lot and wonder what she would feel like his size. Causing Link to blush at his own thoughts as tried to get his head back to normal and stop thinking about other stuff.

Link then thought about it and that having an army of Lynel behind him and dealing with Ganondorf army would help him a lot. Link then nods his head making a growling sound leading to roars of triumph from the other Lynels.

Causing Link to smile before looking at his wrist and seeing his triforce of courage glowing to share in the happiness.

Link grinned as held the master sword up in the air before making more growls and snares fallow by his new Lynel army ready to follow him. Hmm so for once in his life things were going well for the ex-elf and now Alpha Lynel and hero of Hyrule.
