Dunno what took so long to get to this, for as much as anyone who scrolls through my gallery for more than five seconds would probably think my favorite Pokemon is one of the sexy ones like Gardevoir or Lopunny, it's actually Mr. Mime. I guess I always just felt bad for the poor little bastard, the most hated Pokemon for basically no reason, considered creepy when plenty of other Pokemon that are much creepier get praised for it, (and he isn't even really creepy to begin with,, friggin' Gerbert from that Christian puppet show Brutalmoose sometimes does videos on is creepier than Mr. Mime) hell I've even seen people argue that he shouldn't exist as a Pokemon at all because there can't be a Pokemon based on a clown because Pokemon are supposed to be animals. I'm pretty sure people who make that argument aren't fans of the franchise because the "mon" is short for MONSTER, not ANIMAL, and monsters can be anything! If a fucking talking turkey that makes axe puns can be a monster, then clowns can be monsters. Ever heard of Killer Klowns from Outer Space? I think people just don't like Mr. Mime because we all know he's clapping Delia's cheeks while Ash is away, don't pretend otherwise, and everyone's threatened by the thought of his goofy-ass getting more action than them

Mr. Mime became retroactively hated because memes, basically. Hating/pretending to be terrified of Mr. Mime is a meme in the same way as trashing every Sonic game ever made, acting like "moist" is the most disgusting word in the English language or saying pineapple "doesn't belong" on pizza {and to those who say the latter, yeah, guess what, NONE of the things you like on pizza traditionally "belong" on it}.
I think Mr. Mime's not popular 'cause he's too close to looking human for a lot of folk's comfort. Like, Mr. Mimes definitely aren't the only human looking pokémon, but he's the only one with pink skin.
