Balans becomes a golden pillar with a marble pillar for a hammer in a sea of angry, waist-high cultists with glaring daggers in torch light. He slams his hammer into the earth before him again and again. As one gem fades, he taps the next one in line. Row after row of cultist minions stumble, falter, then limp onto the floor in defeat.
This is a special commission. I started playing FFXIV back on Febuary 22nd of 2023, and I never thought I would take to an mmorpg before. I almost didn't, worrying that I wasn't doing it right, didn't have enough self-esteem, and just always my low self confidence getting in the way. In came Yatasal (Zessique), with a friend of ours named Gunparthi. Together they taught me not only how to find confidence in myself, but how to truly tank in FFXIV. I learned my first wall to wall run with them. I took out my first dungeons with them. It felt like, for the very first commission that we would share together, that the moments we shared there would be perfect for it.
In came Rad, with his incredible talent. He spent months working on this artwork that I'm now honored to share with you all. The adventures, fun, and laughter I had with Yatasal, Gunparthi, and even Rad I'll always cherish. Especially now that it's not just in memories that it's immortalized, but in artwork and even soon in story too.
