Team Star Fox suffers a one-sided beatdown from Wolf!

Throughout the expansive cosmos of the Lylat system, the space of stars and planets has had a long and detailed history. Space battles, intergalactic wars, planetwide invasions... These were only a few examples of the amount of conflict that has been etched into the star system. However, for every conflict in the Lylat system, a famous group of heroes has defended Corneria and every other planet countless times in history: Team Star Fox. Led by Fox McCloud, this legendary group of mercenaries has been on the virtuous side of history in every major battle of the star system, such as defeating the evil Emperor Andross. However, one of their recurring achievements is beating their rival team led by the infamous Wolf O'Donnell, known as Team Star Wolf. Time and time again, Fox has beaten Wolf at almost every turn. Almost.

Although Star Fox is known to have been the victor in every space battle against Star Wolf, not all of their encounters are witnessed by the public. Some of their battles are more private than others, unseen by any spectators. One such battle occurred during a simple job for Star Fox. An old space vessel with precious cargo was rediscovered in Sector Omega after being missing for decades. Tasked with reclaiming the lost cargo from the dangerous area, Star Fox accepted the job. As they reached the old station, the team mechanic, Slippy, scanned the vessel and found no threats. Peppy, the team advisor, recommended that only two should deploy to recover the cargo. Given their piloting and combat skills, Fox and Falco volunteered and flew to the giant vessel in their ships. Docking at the old station’s hangar, they entered the main interior on foot. The empty halls were dimly lit with a red light and were accompanied by old emergency broadcasts. Fox was cautious while Falco indifferently walked slightly ahead. It took a few hours for them to eventually scan the cargo’s location within the station, now only a few feet from the exact room. As Falco continued ahead, Fox was about to give a status report back to Peppy—until the reverse happened. Peppy calls in and warns Fox that an enemy ship just docked near the station. The pilot was probably in the station with them. Just as the warning came in, Fox suddenly heard Falco making pained grunts from afar before the bird was sent flying towards him! Fox manages to catch the damaged Falco, his beak showing signs of taking a strong uppercut. Sounds of footsteps come closer and closer until a familiar figure reveals himself: Wolf.

An alarmed Fox helps Falco onto his feet as Wolf glares at them with a smug grin. It turns out that Wolf was also looking for the precious cargo for a solo mission. However, he shifts his sights to breaking his losing streak against Star Fox before doing that. Falco angrily charged towards the older canine with a kick, followed by Fox with a punch. However, Wolf countered with a stronger kick and punch of his own, hitting both of them! Fox recoils backward into a wall and stuns him, but Falco is able to recover fast enough to get back into the action. Wolf laughed and openly stated that beating Falco was going to be easy. Unfortunately…he was completely right. Falco quickly dashed towards his opponent, fast enough to leave afterimages of himself, but Wolf immediately grabbed the bird out of his special move and chokeslammed him into the metal floor! Falco coughs out in pain as his back hits the ground and he tries to escape his opponent’s grasp. But it was no use as Wolf reared back his arm and delivered a crushing punch straight down into the avian’s core! Falco squawked loudly as his limbs flopped from the impact, his pained voice echoing throughout the station…before quieting down into an unconscious sleep. Fox snapped back to reality as he witnessed his friend getting knocked out so quickly and growled at his adversary. Wolf snarled back, looking forward to putting his younger rival in his place. Fox ran in with an onslaught of punches and kicks, but the one-eyed wolf weaved through his rapidfire attacks. Wolf eventually saw an opening and uppercut the young fox in the jaw, lifting Fox off his boots before grabbing and throwing him across the end of the hallway. Slamming into and ricocheting off the wall, Fox fell to the ground and looked up to see a grinning Wolf taunting him further from afar. Angered, Fox slowly got up and dashed straight towards his rival, leaving illusions of himself with the sheer speed of the movement. However, that was a costly mistake…as Wolf delivered a punishing gutpunch straight into Fox’s stomach the moment he was in range! As Wolf’s fist speared into the fox’s core, Fox coughed as his body bent outward from the impact, leaving no oxygen spared for him. With a loud metallic thud, Fox fell onto the floor, unconscious and panting for air.

Wolf took a moment to admire his satisfying victory over his rival with a smug smirk, looking at the knocked out fox and bird, before stealing the space station’s precious cargo and flying away on his ship. The defeated Fox and Falco continued to pant heavily as they were left on the cold floor, their labored breathing echoing throughout the old station. Eventually, Peppy was able to safely return them to base for recovery. Although Fox was resting, he will have to wake up and know that somewhere out there in space…Wolf is laughing at him. For this day, the leader of Star Fox was dominated by Wolf O’Donnell.
