What the hell is wrong with this website? I had to try and upload this file far too many times then is sensible to get it to load the right side up.
The old car https://www.furaffinity.net/view/19730535/ has developed transmission issues. In the low gears it shifts slow and rough. I took it to the dealer, they tried to fix a couple of things and it seemed to work for a day or two. On the advice of a friend I got the fluid changed and it felt like it was completely back to normal...for two days.
I decided it was time to stop throwing bad money into it and just get new, it's 12 years old with 245 000KM on it. I did some internet shopping and had things narrowed to a white jeep at a Ford dealer or an orange truck at the Chev. Truck was a little out of budget, so I went to the jeep first.
Good Lord, these guys were horrible. First up I got a consult from the mechanic on my old car's issues and he came up with yet another possible diagnosis. Then I asked about CVT transmissions and he wasn't a fan. We spoke to the sales associate about the jeep. He really put the ass in associate. Said there was no warrantee on used. My mother was helping pay, family thing, that way we each own a part of every vehicle, and she mentioned that Ontario has a 30-day cooling off period on all contracts and he replied, "I have good lawyer." When it was time for the test drive, the jeep wouldn't start. When I asked about a different vehicle that had a CVT he told me they were great. Mechanic says otherwise, buddy. So maybe a bit off budget wasn't a bad thing.
The Chev associate was warm greeting, told us they were a prime dealer and all used were Certified with 3 month warrantee. They got the truck ready right away and while I was on the test drive Mom negotiated money off since I was going to pay outright, not finance. She got it down $500 and while doing that the associate looked at my file and found, that since I got all repairs, oil changes and seasonal tire swaps done there I had accrued $970 in reward money. The final price, including new plates, reg and such came out to less than the original base price plus taxes.
I pick it up on Monday. She'll be paid and clear. The old car was good to me, but at times in the Canadian winter I'd often think, "I wish I had a truck."
Here's hoping it's as good to me as her sister.

I was doing my damndest trying to figure out where to get some weight that made sense. Then I saw the box of kitty litter we use is 40lb. It looks like 5 will fit across the back of the box, which, as you can see, is very close to the back tires.
200lb, and I can just use it for the cats as the weather improves.

Former coworker dailies a Colorado, and goes Overlanding in it. He loves it, I think his is also a '19.
Just be careful with the 4x4 in bad weather, it'll get going a lot easier than a little Front Wheel Drive, and that gives people confidence to go faster, but when it comes to turning or stopping, it won't do it any better. I see a lot of people fall into that trap every year with the first snow of the season.
