The Time I became a Pig (Anthro Tepig TF / WG / MC)
By Alph and D.
Pokémon has had a bit of a hard time in its more recent years, no point denying that. But everyone does seem to agree on one thing: Gen V is the cream of the crop. And its starters are quite iconic. Oshawott, Snivy, and Tepig, all three of which we’ve used in the past. But what if I told you that I was turned into a Tepig myself? Impossible, you say, for a human to be suddenly turned into a fire-breathing pig? Well, it’s no tale of heroism, but I know one thing: it forever changed my life.
I was walking down a forest road during the wintertime, bundled up in a jacket. It was quite quiet and peaceful, all the animals either migrate or hibernate through this long winter. The off-white snow crunched with every step I took, and how I wished to find a brief respite for this chill.
As I walked, the breeze crept up on my face, causing me to shiver. I just hoped that I wouldn’t catch frostbite this winter. That’s when I finally saw some sanctuary: a small cave located in the heart of the forest! I wasted no time jumping inside. It felt cozy inside, I wanted to remain inside and warm up. Such a wonderful feeling… you have no idea.
As I walked into the cave a little further, I then noticed something. This wasn't just a small cave, but rather, this was something much bigger, bigger than any cave I had previously seen. Ever. And yet… I could almost sense something. Something… alive here. Was there another person in here?
“Hello?” I called out.
After a moment of silence, I got a response. “Is… is someone else in here?” The voice was soft, definitely a female. But what was she doing here?
“Uh… I just arrived. To warm up.” I said.
“Oh… well, this cave is as good a place as any to warm up,” said the voice. “Please, do come in.”
I came closer, only to find something truly peculiar: there was indeed another person here, except, she wasn’t a human at all. She looked like an anthropomorphic Vulpix, though her fur was shades of pink, and her eyes were green and hazel.
“Whoa… a Vulpix!” I called out.
“Indeed,” said the Vulpix, standing up and looking at me. “My, my, a human? Quite the surprise. I was thinking it’d be another Pokémorph like myself. But I welcome variety.”
“You can talk, too! How is that possible?” I asked.
“Oh, you poor, naive child. I can do a lot of things,” said the Vulpix. “And I’ll be able to do much more once I evolve. But for now, we can of course enjoy each other’s company as we wait out this storm.” She clicked her fingers and a small fire appeared in the centre of the room. I then went over to the fire and warmed up, taking off my jacket as I did so.
“Thanks, wonderful Vulpix.” I said.
“My name’s Destiny, actually,” said the Vulpix. “And you’re quite welcome. I know humans don’t have such lucious, fluffy, warm fur like mine to keep them warm.”
“No… we don't… I wonder how I can keep warm without leaving the fireplace.” I said.
“Well… I can think of one way,” said Destiny, a mischievous smile on her face. She pointed at the fire with her finger, causing it to spring up, coiling through the air like a snake.
“Whoa!” I shot back. “What is it doing?”
“Relax, dear. I know what I’m doing,” said Destiny with a sly nod as the flames wrapped around me, not burning me at all despite their heat. Then, the heat suddenly spiked as my eyesight went totally white for a split second. And in that instant, I felt really funny.
The flames turned a bright blue as they heated up, and I could feel my body start to boil like I was in a flash fryer. It was so hot, and yet… somehow, it didn’t bother me. I could even feel myself suddenly tripling in size in all directions, my hands and feet growing larger, my face pushing out, a small tail curling and growing from my spine, ending with a spherical ball at the tip, and even more bizarrely, a swelling sensation in my belly. My clothes burnt completely off as my body continued to grow, eventually becoming quite big; though I couldn’t see, I felt my body touching more of the cave floor at that moment. I was laying down, belly down.
When I could see again, I got up and shook my head to clear it from what had happened. The first thing that caught my eye was Destiny, who looked a little smaller now. “There you go!” she said, happily.
Then, she showed me a mirror, and from there, I saw that I was no longer human. My face was that of a pig’s, complete with long ears on top and a dark blue fringe of hair covering my eye. Down below, everything was much bigger, and wow, did I feel much more bloated than before. I completely lacked toes on my feet, replaced by toeless feet, and my tail looked rather cute being just above my now massive rump. I looked over to Destiny.
“Wh… what did you do to me?” I asked, as I rubbed my new body with curiosity.
“Gave you a way to move from the campfire,” she replied, playfully.
“By making me huge?” I asked.
“No, silly! By turning you into a Tepig! Who else can stay warm like a Fire Type?” Destiny giggled. “And besides, the spell is specifically designed to bring out your heart’s desires. However rash they may be,” she added, playfully poking my pudge.
I giggled at the mere thought of that. She was right in thinking that I had always wanted to be a big creature of some sort. I guess this is what I get for it? Not that I minded of course. Before I could even think, my stomach began to growl. I was getting pretty hungry from the heat and from walking a long way from home.
“Oh, is someone feeling a little peckish?” Destiny giggled. “Don’t worry, I got food. Just promise me not to pig out on my supply for the winter.”
“Okay.” I said.
So, we ate up. I actually consumed a little more than Destiny, largely due to my bigger frame and appearance. And also because I really couldn’t help myself. I just felt like I had to gobble up so much food. Destiny saw this and smiled widely. She knew I couldn't help myself, so just allowed me to eat as much as I wanted. “Oh, boy… I knew I should’ve found more berries,” she thought to herself.
As I ate, I started to grow much bigger. And bigger. And bigger. It started off minor, but by the time I was finished, I was almost double my original size. Destiny saw me, and couldn't resist a hug on my now larger belly. “Wow… you’re so big and so cuddly!” she giggled.
“Er… thanks.” I said. “Think you can help me burn this fat? I can barely move.”
“Burn your fat, you say?” Destiny asked, flexing her fingers. “Well, here goes nothing!” She shot a stream of fire towards my belly, and I could see the fat begin to bubble like boiling water as it slowly evaporated off of me. After long, I was back to my normal size: the shape I started as when I first turned into a Tepig.
“Thanks, Destiny.” I said. “So, what now?”
“Now? Heh. Well, I think you’d better stay with me for a bit,” said Destiny. “After all, no human knows about me.”
“Okay…” I said.
Destiny came over to me. “In fact, let’s make sure you don’t go back,” she said, her face splitting into a mischievous smirk as the flames started to swirl around her, taking me by surprise as she levitated into the air from the vortex.
“Whoa…” I said, In awe of this sight.
“Are you ready?” Destiny asked, her eyes starting to glow. “Don’t worry; I’ve done this to many others before you. You’re gonna be just fine. Not that you’ll remember this when we’re done.” The flames turned blue and started to snake their way over to my head. I could feel a prickling sensation as it entered my brain, causing my thoughts and memories to start evaporating like water. It was getting harder and harder to think, harder and harder to remember being human… what was a human, even?
“That’s it,” said Destiny’s voice, echoing in the blank cave that was my brain. “Just relax, and let my magic siphon out all human thoughts and memories. By the time this is through, you won’t remember being human, because you never were human.”
My mind was clear. I was a Tepig. I had always been a Tepig. Nothing else. And Destiny was always my friend. She was so kind and caring, always having me over to dine on her finest berries and foods. The flames exited my brain and slowly, my thoughts came back. And what was the first thing I did? Well, I saw Destiny in front of me, calling my name.
“Alph? Alph?”
I hugged her tightly, never letting go. “Hello, Destiny!” I said, in a cheerful manner.
“Ack! Hey, let go!” Destiny cried. “Okay… good to see you’re awake. Do you know what happened?”
I shook my head as I let her go. In fact, I couldn't remember what happened. Not that It mattered to me. Destiny sighed. “You really need to stop going into food comas,” she said. “This one wasn’t too bad, but still.”
“Oh, Okay…” I said.
“Still, you do make a nice bed for me,” said Destiny. “Which is lucky, since that gives my heart a place to rest from the shock.”
“Shall I rest up for you?” I asked. “You do need a bed from that, after all.”
“You kind of already rested,” said Destiny.
“I did? Alright then… What do we do now?” I asked.
“I dunno,” said Destiny. “You got something on your mind?”
“Wanna go berry gathering?” I asked.
“It’s December,” said Destiny.
“Oh! Uh, okay.”
And yeah. That’s my life. A Tepig who lives with his best friend, Destiny. A Vulpix who’s lived in this forest for decades. And yet she’s still so young. I’ve tried to ask what her secret is, but all she says is that I wouldn’t understand it. If there’s one thing I do understand about her, it’s that she doesn’t seem to like humans all that much. From what I can tell, she had a nasty encounter with a human that tried to capture her, but she managed to flee, losing her family in the process. I guess that kinda scarred her. I don’t know what she does with any humans she finds, but I do know that for some reason, more Pokémon start showing up in this forest whenever she says she met one. But they claim to be there all the time.
I do wonder what happens to the humans, but I’m not one to speculate on it. I just enjoy my time with her.
