*Please take this warning lightly, as there have been no reported adverse effects to being in proximity to this entity -- this warning is given to inform those that may approach this entity that mind and mood-altering effects may take place. And please, should you encounter this entity, treat it with the utmost respect -- we may very well have a Primordial in out midst.
[Threat Level]: I
*The facility hopes this is true, and remains this way.
[Containment Level]: None
[Containment Procedure]: None
*No attempts to contain Parinama and its associated 'shells' and 'forms' have been made, nor shall any ever be needed. To do so is foolish, and the entity shall be allowed to roam, enter and leave the facility as it wishes.
[Scientific Interest]: Paramount*
*Perhaps this should fall under 'Spiritual' interest instead. I will file the needed request forms at a later date.
[Interview Log]: None.
*Entity does not communicate with any known language, be it ancient or current. The entity does however seem to understand any language that is directed its way, and when something other than a verbal response from the entity is provided, it is done so through motions and actions. Please note that the attitude and answers from the entity are fickle, and at times unconcerned and untroubled. The entity will interact when it wishes, and no forced attempt should be made. In lieu of an interview log, I will provide a description of Parinama and their associated 'forms' or 'shells'
[Parinama]: Subject 1325 or 'Parinama' as I have named the entity, is a sentient being that stands at around 3 feet high [91.4cm]. It is soft and squishy, and quite cool to the touch -- at times almost like a thick liquid, yet no substance sticks to its opaline form. The substance of the being is unknown, and will no doubt remain that way until the stars dim, as it seems to sense any desire to obtain any of its substance -- it will either politely push the interested party away, or simply assume one of its more solid forms. The eyes are unique in that the pupil does not seem to be whole, but instead three split pupils that can shift and arrange themselves in various ways. The intensity of the flecks of color within the being's form dulls and intensifies seemingly according to its mood and the level of light. It is quite a beautiful thing to behold.
Outwardly, Parinama appears as a mixture between an Ambystoma mexicanum and Diplocaulus. It is bipedal and fanged -- which I must admit, it has the cutest set of chompers I have seen in quite some time. While sustenance appears to not be needed, I can personally attest that the little one has quite the appetite, and can and will eat a variety of things -- provided they are given of free will, or should the opportunity arise. (While the 'Burger Incident' is humorous, I would advise my colleagues to attempt a modicum of seriousness in this entry, and keep your musings within your own personal logs. We are supposed to be scholars, after all.)
Despite outward appearance, one of the most unique features of this entity is the effect it has on those in its proximity. Despite what you may feel or think before approaching the entity, a feeling of calm and peace will always pervade those that approach -- even in passing. One could almost call it a familiar sense of serenity. Facility members have reported a subtle suggesting of thoughts, attitude and feeling that pervade teachings of Taoism, Buddhism, and Zen. Those that are familiar with such ways of thought experience these feelings a bit more intensely, however at no time are these thoughts or feelings ever forced. I realize that this contradicts what I have just written, however it is an experience that one must feel to understand -- it is a feeling of vague suggestion, and one may pursue the effect that this entity gives to them, or they may ignore it, however any aggression or agitation seems to abate when around the entity, regardless of attempts to change such feelings. The reasons for such persuasion is unknown, as very little scientific progress can be made with this entity.
Another unique feature of this entity is that pieces of its 'shell' can always be found strewn around in proximity to its more squishy, viscous form. They follow the entity no matter where it goes, and should any piece be lost, stolen or damaged, it will produce from itself another similar piece made first of its gooey form, which will harden and liken to the aforementioned piece. Because of this, I am of the mind to believe that this entity may be made of a sort of primordial ooze -- the very stuff that formed in the beginning of our known universe and also perhaps why the entity denies any scientific study of itself. If this is true, then we may have a Primordial in our midst, and utmost care should be taken to ensure that its stay here with us is the best that we can provide. There are two 'shells' that Parinama has been recorded to form and inhabit. I will describe them below.
[Samsara]: Subject 1325-A1 or 'Samsara' as I have named it is a stony figure in the likeness of a winged cat around the same height and size as Parinama -- though some call it a 'sphinx'. The entity's 'shell' is made of various types of stone -- all seemingly native to our celestial body, yet imperfections seem to occasionally riddle the 'shell', and allow Parinama to be seen through the stone's faults and cracks. I was the first to discover Samsara, and as such, Parinama as well. The Zen garden we keep in the facility for personal use is a collaborative effort among fellow scholars, and when I had found a moss-covered sphinx sitting in the middle of our sand garden, there were...questions. At first no attempt to move Samsara had been made. It would simply sit there for days on end, and for quite some time, my colleagues and I were none the wiser that this was an actual entity. We had simply allowed this being to remain in the center of our sand garden. During spring, a slight moss would cover the stone. During summer, the moss had matured and engulfed the small statue, giving it a vibrant green coloration. During the fall, the moss had nearly disappeared and instead autumn leaves would appear at the base of the sphinx, and during the winter months, the statue would be dusted with snow, both at its base and upon its form.
No amount of care and cleaning could permanently get rid of the seasons' tidings, be it moss, leaves or snow, and for a year, we had all suspected a trickster among ourselves -- a harmless one of course. This little statue had become our pet project of sorts -- we had simply accepted the addition to our garden, and the fact that someone would cover the small statue in moss, snow or leaves once it had been cleaned. As mentioned before, however, a calming sense of peace had pervaded our lives when entering our Zen garden, yet not one of us suspected anything more than the feelings that the garden had already given us.
A whole year, until I had finally seen this entity move on its own. It was startling. I entered one morning to begin the day with my daily breathing routine and had noticed the sphinx was no longer in the center of the sand garden. In fact, I could not locate it anywhere. That is until I heard splashing from the back of the garden, within our koi pond. I was curious, yet just when I had begun to make my way to the pond, out into view jumped the sphinx. Animated. At first I was startled, and nearly ran for the door, however it approached me calmly, trailing small patches of moss and flowers at its little stone paws. The flora miraculously sprouted out of everything its paws touched. Stone, sand, wood, and as quickly as it would appear, it would retract into the ground, leaving not a trace. I called for my colleagues and needless to say, the rest was history -- I do not need give a detailed account of everything that has happened since.
It was spring then, though I should note that when Parinama inhabits its Samsara shell, whatever the season, it will leave a trail of short-lived ...'effects' that are appropriate to the season. Snow for winter. Autumn leaves during Fall -- so on and so forth. I would also like to point out that the behavior of Samsara is quite cat-like as well, and can range from a complete lack of movement to a full on chase throughout the facility.
Before I talk about Parinama's last shell, I would like to take the time to warn colleagues that when Samsara is in 'greebles mode', please get out of the way as Samsara has a good bit of weight, and injury can occur if high-speed contact is made.
[Trishna]: Subject 1325-A2 or 'Trishna' as I have dubbed the beast is...quite intimidating. It is rare to see Trishna roaming through the facility, yet despite the effect it has on some of our members and the..intimidation factor, Trishna is safe, as long as you give it no reason to defend itself.
Trisha resembles a stony winged demon -- a gargoyle some have called it, and shares much of the stony faults and fissures that Samsara does, allowing Parinama to be seen within. There are a few curiosities about this shell that I would like to mention, as I have very little experience with this shell.
Parinama seems to take on a much darker hue, like that of black opal -- still quite gorgeous to behold; the flecks of coloration within are intense and bright. The size of this winged beast is quite large -- around 10 feet when measured [304.8cm]. Hulking and intimidating. I have only seen Trishna on a few occasions roaming our halls, garnering worried glances from those around -- myself included. There was only one time where I had seen Trishna manifest, and that was when a former colleague of ours tried by force to obtain a sample of Parinama. The colleague was quite rough with the small one, and before we could intervene, masses of stone were quickly pulled into and around Parinama's form; the stone itself reshaping, cracking, shedding and reforming, as if tectonic forces were at play, until the hulking beast revealed itself from behind its large stony wings and let out a terrifying, guttural roar. There was the threat of violence -- the anger seemingly seething from the entity into everyone around, yet the display of power was enough to dissuade our former colleague, and she was quickly questioned and then transferred from our facility.
Parinama remained within Trishna for a few days, in which our colleagues noticed the opposite effect that Parinama and Samsara emanates. Calm and peace were replaced with what could only be considered as a nagging clinging. We experienced small bouts of agitation, memories and grudges that we thought we had worked out and put behind us -- not only between each other but with external sources as well. And to the effect of some, even subtle influences of more carnal feelings. Even when out of sight, Trishna's effects could be felt throughout the facility, yet no violence was recorded from Trishna, and our colleagues and I were freely able to examine the beast's form -- within reason. Trishna's effects quickly dissipated when it shed its form and returned to the shell of Samsara, in which it remained motionless and still within the garden for a week before becoming animate once more.
I must reiterate previous warnings: Do. Not. Provoke. This. Entity. It has graced us with its presence, and while we have given it ample opportunity to leave, it decides to reside within our facility and entertain us in our pursuits. There seems to be nothing to fear from this entity, as long as you give it no reason to pursue self defense.
I would lastly like to mention that because of the anomalous effects and attributes that Parinama, Samsara and Trishna exude, I am certain that this entity is a Primordial, much as Mynerva is. Please remember that our current understanding of Primordials is miniscule at best, and very little will be able to be ascertained with our current instruments and technology.
Primordials simply are. They always have been, and always will be. They are as much a part of us as we are of them. They are, as we understand it, ideas and the structure of our existence, as we know it, given form. They are not our friends, nor are they our enemies. With this in mind, I reiterate once more, mainly for our newer colleagues: please treat Parinama and their associated forms with respect. It will return your kindness and thoughtfulness. Sometimes an explanation of the unknown is not what we seek, and it is something that we must just simply wonder at -- not everything in this universe must be explained and given a binding label.
The time is now 2000 Hours and I have finished my brief summation on the entity. I have so much more to say, however more can be added later, and I must admit that Samsara sits a bit too heavy on my lap currently, and I must stand and stretch before I continue to record more.
As one last note: to the colleague who left their jewelry unattended, it has been promptly 'donated' to Parinama, who has put it to good use. I would also like to report that the mineral content of the jewelry seems to melt and meld into Parinama's very being, and reform as needed. We learn something new every day.
Altrika is the amazing artist who went above and beyond with this piece -- thank you SO SO SO much Altrika, not only for taking this on, but for also adding shading to this piece unexpectedly. I absolutely love them <3
This character reflects some world views of mine, and will most likely never be represented in a NSFW way, despite Trishna being quite the looker.
Thanks so much if you actually read any of that; I'll have to clean it up some as the days progress <3
