I wanted to practice a bit more with backgrounds and decided to make a dark 'gothic like' series of landscapes speed-paintings (like not more than 2.5h) with one main colour. Some paintings in the series turned out to be 'mission failed' but some were nice :) I used 2.5h on this one.

This is a mystic scene from the Siderian world - which is an alternative version of Earth were large carnivores rule and where metaphysical energy causes interesting mysteries. Metaphysical energy flows particularly though 'crystal veins' in the planet's surface and the different types of crystals that emerge at the surface can emit several forms of metaphysical energy.
