Bentina and her sister Annie are the daughters of a prominent member of Team Skull, as such they were raised in Po Town with other children of Skull members. Growing in that enviorment, Bentina was always intimidated by Team Skull and became a timid introvert, while Annie on the other hand openly welcomed Skull's antics and became somewhat of a bad girl and occasional bully to her younger sister.

One day when the siblings were teenagers a fight between Team Skull and the Alolan Explorer Guild broke out that ended with their father arrested by the explorers. The girls were rescued by explorers and relocated to Melemele Island.

Now as adults, Bentina continues to be timid and easily intimidated, while Annie continues to be a bad girl and one who is very comfortable with her large weight contrasting with Bentina being more concious about her weight.

Annie nowadays continues to be somewhat of a bully to her sister, though now it is more in a playful big sister manner.
