I actually like the low contrast aesthetic. Idk another artist told me once that low contrast is my weak point but I actually like how it looks. What do you think?
The artist in question is actually a really good artist themselves so I trust their opinion but I keep going back to drawing like this cause I think It's just my asthetic. Maybe instead of adding more contrast I just have to perfect low contrast

i think this is subjective. No matter how good the artist is, subjectivity is always going to be there. I remember years ago that "clean lineart" was seen as the expectation while sketchier lines was avoided even though we've clearly seen how cool and stylish sketchy lineart can be.
I had a former friend also tell me to make higher contrast art but then as years past, I realize that was just her bias speaking. Higher contrast may make things pop out more but that isn't the end all be all of art. Plus in real life, things aren't always in high contrast either.
Do whatever feels right for your art at the end of the day.
