Carmine’s company was hired for a little planetary conquest. The entire company was not required, though. While the locals did hire mercenaries of their own to defend the planet, they were not quite in the same league as Carmine’s company.

So, Carmine was sent alone to save money. He liked it better that way. Crushing the competition is a personal joy of his.
