Here's my latest incarnation of Desert Fox - this time rendered in a different style. This one's based on a sketch from Monday's Old Chicago meet that I drew after having a few craft beers. : )

Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm rendering out as many concepts from my sketchbook as possible sine they're still fresh sketches. I find that I rarely ever go back to paint or revisit old concepts even if they're just a few months back. Might as well paint 'em now. : )

Photoshop and Brush #19. This brush has softer edges and when I paint with it, I'll hit F5 to bring up the brush settings dialogue and change the brush shape to make it pointy. That works *great* for rendering fur as I can get some really sharp points.

Well, you can do any sort of editing with photoshop. You can use it for photo manipulation, drawing, painting, whatever you want. I still use Photoshop CS3 - so there's no need for the latest and greatest version. Look online for an older version of Photoshop - you'll be able to get one fairly inexpensively.
Just make sure you have a tablet if you are painting - without one its a lot more difficult.

Hi Jen,
Thanks so much for the feedback! Here's what I've been doing in regards to coloring. I'm using greyscale layers to start out, then adding multiply/ overlay layers on top of it. There's a little bit of trial and error to get things to work right, but its totally worth it. : )
