Naga Xai ref
Wow, dontcha feel special FA? i'm actually uploaing something here FIRST for once XD
Here is my naga character Xai... well, not entirely true, he's the naga version OF Xai... from a private roleplay about nagas that i do with my girlfriend.
Yes he's a total perv XD but he can be really sweet too, as described here.
most of the text on there is about his character and a little about his history... so even though there's a bit much for a ref sheet it's interesting to read. the most perfect spelling, grammar and punctuation i've ever done XD.
Okay so yeah, i liked the drawing i did for this, and i think I made his tail have a really nice shape to it, and I expected to enhance that with the shine (Which i was determined to actually look scaly and snake-like, which i think i achieved), but instead i think it actually lessened it... except for the last section of the tail, which looks GREAT =D
you can see if you focus on the stripes that the curves of the tail are in a different place from where i did the shining, so i may very well go back and change it later.
especially there at the bottom left lol
I love how i drew his human half too. mainly the face and the hair.
I struggle with the detailed shading of xai's hair XD i always do. it's like, where the hell is the point where it all comes from? XD
it's really hard to get it all to flow together well enough.
Overall i love how this turned out. Drawn on paper and coloured entirely on gimp, on three different computers XD
started at college on my break, finished most of it at home, then the next day (today), finished it with the more complex finishign touches on mum's computer, so i could use my old tablet (since i lost the pen for my new one)
Ah i love my old tablet. so much. i just wish it would work with windows 7 computers. i'll never throw it out though, it's my baby XD
Then again so is my camera lol. my more creative technology are the things i love lol.
Anyway, here be xai, and his colours, if anyone should so need reference.
As well as a bit of insight into him lol.
I was originally planning on making a male naga base from this. it was originally gonna be a different character but i ended up making it Xai lol
so i may do that in the future...
