APT repo structure for Ubuntu

is it possible to use the serial name of the Ubuntu/Debian version in the repo under "/dists"?

For example: https://apt.puppet.com/dists/

We have the problem that the Ubuntu Landscape cannot create a series with a dot in the name. (See https://apt.voxpupuli.org/dists/)
