Bug description

A while ago this problem started appearing when I updated to a newer version of YouTube. I can't stand it when I notice the corners. I know you can just turn off ambient mode but I really like it. You can see in the image what I am talking about.

YT changed the behavior of fullscreen ambient mode in the latest releases.

Include Disable fullscreen ambient mode patch and it restores the background to black.

It might be a client side feature flag that can be disabled with a patch.

For now you can patch an older version of YT with the latest patches.

@LisoUseInAIKyrios I also get it in YouTube 20.19.35
Probably new layout in 20.xx

Tested it on old android 11 phone and it did not have this issue. Also with my old Android 12 phone it does have the issue. Maybe it's related to the Android version?

Probably new layout in 20.xx

No, possibly vendor specific (for example Xiaomi with its software-defined rounded screen edges)

Happens on the unpatched app

Why can't this still be a fix that is added to revanced?

Because its not a bug.

Because its not a bug.

Could it be a feature though

Yes, but would require proper motivation

Yes, but would require proper motivation

So I should open a feature request
