MIT Press expands Direct to Open (D2O) open access model in 2026
As we enter the fifth funding cycle for Direct to Open (D2O)—our model for open access monographs—the MIT Press is thrilled to partner with Duke University Press and Goldsmiths Press to bring even more vital research to the communities that need it most.

Celebrating Women Astronomers
This year for National Women Astronomers, we’re celebrating that women have been involved in space study for nearly as long as the field has existed. Our curated list of titles honors a few women who have had a major impact on astronomy and space exploration.

Recent awards
We are proud to highlight some of the accolades given to our authors in recent months, from this year’s PROSE Awards to the Axiom Business Book Awards.

Books for understanding
Online polarization and bias have become defining features of our digital age, particularly through the anonymous nature of social media interactions. But meaningful dialogue across ideological differences still remains possible—and indeed, necessary. If you’re struggling to navigate conversations that feel increasingly fraught, we’ve gathered a collection of books that provide context to our current moment and provide tools for respectful, productive communication across ideological divides.
Impact Factors
Many MIT Press journals rank highly in their fields with 2024 Clarivate Journal Impact Factors, with Transactions of the Association for Computational Linguistics and International Security hitting top spots.
