    fpinscala

    fpinscala

Code, exercises, answers, and hints to go along with the book

The fpinscala repository provides exercises, hints, and solutions for the book Functional Programming in Scala, serving as a companion resource for anyone studying the text. It is designed to guide learners through each chapter of the book by offering exercise stubs, partial implementations, and progressively developed code examples. As readers work through the book, they can complete exercises directly in the provided Scala files, building a library of functional programming constructs along the way. For those who need guidance, the repository includes hints and fully worked answers, with explanations and variations to deepen understanding. The project covers both the first and second editions of the book, with separate branches to match the edition being studied. By combining the book with this repository, learners can gain hands-on practice and immediate feedback, making the experience akin to having a personal tutor in functional programming.

    jsoniter-scala

    jsoniter-scala

Scala macros for compile-time generation of safe and ultra-fast JSON

Scala macros for compile-time generation of safe and ultra-fast JSON codecs. This library had started from macros that reused jsoniter (json-iterator) for Java reader and writer but then the library evolved to have its own core of mechanics for parsing and serialization. The idea to generate codecs by Scala macros and main details was borrowed from Kryo Macros and adapted for the needs of the JSON domain. Validate parsed values safely with the fail-fast approach and clear reporting, provide configurable limits for suboptimal data structures with safe defaults to be resilient for DoS attacks, generate codecs that create instances of a fixed set of classes during parsing to avoid RCE attacks.

    node2vec
The node2vec project provides an implementation of the node2vec algorithm, a scalable feature learning method for networks. The algorithm is designed to learn continuous vector representations of nodes in a graph by simulating biased random walks and applying skip-gram models from natural language processing. These embeddings capture community structure as well as structural equivalence, enabling machine learning on graphs for tasks such as classification, clustering, and link prediction. The repository contains reference code accompanying the research paper node2vec: Scalable Feature Learning for Networks (KDD 2016). It allows researchers and practitioners to apply node2vec to various graph datasets and evaluate embedding quality on downstream tasks. By bridging ideas from graph theory and word embedding models, this project demonstrates how graph-based machine learning can be made efficient and flexible.

    sbt

    sbt

    sbt, the interactive build tool

Define your tasks in Scala. Run them in parallel from sbt's interactive shell. sbt is built for Scala and Java projects. It is the build tool of choice for 93.6% of the Scala developers (2019). One of the examples of a Scala-specific feature is the ability to cross-build your project against multiple Scala versions. build.sbt is a Scala-based DSL to express parallel processing task graph. Typos in build.sbt will be caught as a compilation error. With Zinc incremental compiler and file watch (~), edit-compile-test loop is fast and incremental. Adding support for new tasks and platforms (like Scala.js) is as easy as writing build.sbt. Join 100+ community-maintained plugins to share and reuse sbt tasks. Continuous compilation and testing with triggered execution. Supports mixed Scala/Java projects. Supports testing with ScalaCheck, specs, and ScalaTest. JUnit is supported by a plugin. Starts the Scala REPL with project classes and dependencies on the classpath.

    Chronos

    Chronos

Fault tolerant job scheduler for Mesos to handle dependencies

Chronos is a replacement for cron. It is a distributed and fault-tolerant scheduler that runs on top of Apache Mesos that can be used for job orchestration. It supports custom Mesos executors as well as the default command executor. Thus by default, Chronos executes sh (on most systems bash) scripts. Chronos can be used to interact with systems such as Hadoop (incl. EMR), even if the Mesos slaves on which execution happens do not have Hadoop installed. Chronos is also natively able to schedule jobs that run inside Docker containers. Chronos has a number of advantages over regular cron. It allows you to schedule your jobs using ISO8601 repeating interval notation, which enables more flexibility in job scheduling. Chronos also supports the definition of jobs triggered by the completion of other jobs. It supports arbitrarily long dependency chains. The easiest way to use Chronos is to use DC/OS and install chronos via the universe.

    Refined

    Refined

    Refinement types for Scala

Refined is a Scala library that enhances types with compile-time constraints using predicate-style refinement types. It allows embedding validation logic into types like Refined[Int, Positive], ensuring invalid values are rejected at compile or runtime, thereby increasing safety and reducing boilerplate in domain modeling.

    Rocket Chip

    Rocket Chip

    Rocket Chip Generator

Rocket Chip is a parameterized RISC-V SoC generator written in Chisel that produces synthesizable RTL for a wide range of cores and configurations. At its heart is the Rocket core, a simple, in-order, five-stage RISC-V implementation, but the generator composes much more: coherent caches, MMUs, interrupt controllers, and buses via the TileLink interconnect. A diplomacy framework (LazyModules) lets designers wire components with negotiated parameters, enabling reuse and rapid exploration of different cache sizes, port counts, and memory hierarchies. The generator supports custom accelerators through the RoCC interface, allowing domain-specific compute units to be plugged into the pipeline with shared cache and memory semantics. Tooling integrates with FIRRTL, Verilator, and commercial EDA flows, and the ecosystem around Rocket Chip (e.g., Chipyard) adds harnesses, peripherals, and verification infrastructure.

    Waves Platform Node

    Waves Platform Node

Host connected to the Waves blockchain network

Waves Platform Node is a host connected to the Waves blockchain network. Waves is an open source blockchain platform that offers a full blockchain ecosystem for building decentralised applications. Nodes are its critical components, performing several important functions such as processing and validating transactions, and generating and storing blocks. Nodes store full blockchain data, pass this data to other nodes, and check the validity of newly added blocks. Validation ensures that the blocks are all in the correct format, all hashes are computed correctly, that the new block contains the hash of the previous one, and that every transaction is validated and signed by the right parties.

    XiangShan

    XiangShan

    Open-source high-performance RISC-V processor

XiangShan is an open-source, high-performance RISC-V processor project that implements out-of-order superscalar cores using Chisel for hardware construction. The design targets modern performance goals—deep pipelines, speculative execution, multi-issue decode/execute, and sophisticated branch prediction—while remaining synthesizable for ASIC flows and portable to FPGAs for research. A modular microarchitecture separates frontend, backend, and memory subsystems with coherent caches and scalable interconnects, enabling multi-core configurations. The project invests heavily in verification: differential testing against reference models, extensive random instruction tests, and full software stacks (bootloaders, Linux) to validate correctness under realistic workloads. Tooling around the core (build scripts, simulators, waveform/debug support) lowers the barrier for academics and industry contributors to experiment and extend.
