    I/O Photo Booth

    I/O Photo Booth

Google I/O 2021 Photo Booth built with Flutter and Firebase

Google I/O 2021 Photo Booth built with Flutter and Firebase. A Photo Booth built with Flutter and Firebase for Google I/O 2021. We (the folks at Very Good Ventures) teamed up with Google to bring an interactive experience to this year’s Google I/O: a photo booth! You can take pictures with well-known Google mascots: Flutter’s Dash, Android Jetpack, Chrome’s Dino, and Firebase’s Sparky, and decorate photos with stickers, including party hats, pizza, funky glasses, and more. Finally, you can share photos on social media and download them to update your profile picture for the event! We built the I/O Photo Booth using Flutter on the web and Firebase. Because Flutter now offers support for web apps, we thought it would be a great way to make this app easily accessible to attendees all over the world for this year’s virtual Google I/O. Flutter’s web support eliminates the barrier of having to install an app from an app store and also gives you the flexibility to run it on your device.

    Provider

    Provider

    InheritedWidgets, but simple

provider is a lightweight state management approach for Flutter that wraps InheritedWidget to expose data down the widget tree in a clean, idiomatic way. It popularized simple patterns like ChangeNotifierProvider and Consumer to rebuild only the widgets that need updates. The library offers convenient providers for synchronous values, streams, and futures, plus utilities like MultiProvider and ProxyProvider to compose dependencies. Its appeal is minimal boilerplate, readability, and ease of onboarding for teams new to Flutter. Because it relies on Flutter’s core mechanisms, it integrates seamlessly with common architectural styles and existing widgets. Many apps use provider as a baseline pattern, and later evolve toward more advanced solutions as complexity grows—without discarding the conceptual model provider introduces.

    Responsive Framework

    Responsive Framework

Easily make Flutter apps responsive. Automatically adapt UI

Responsive Framework adapts your UI to different screen sizes automatically. Create your UI once and have it display pixel-perfect on mobile, tablet, and desktop! Supporting multiple display sizes often means recreating the same layout multiple times. Under the traditional Bootstrap approach, building responsive UI is time-consuming, frustrating and repetitive. Furthermore, getting everything pixel-perfect is nearly impossible and simple edits take hours. AutoScale shrinks and expands your layout proportionally, preserving the exact look of your UI. This eliminates the need to manually adapt layouts to mobile, tablet, and desktop. Flutter's default behavior is resize which Responsive Framework respects. AutoScale is off by default and can be enabled at breakpoints by setting autoScale to true. Flutter's default behavior is to resize your layout when the screen dimensions change. Resizing a layout stretches it in the direction of an unconstrained width or height.

    Rinf

    Rinf

Rust for native business logic, Flutter for flexible and beautiful GUI

Rust for native business logic, Flutter for flexible and beautiful GUI. Rinf is a production-ready framework for creating beautiful and performant cross-platform apps using Flutter and Rust with batteries fully included. Simply add this framework to your app project, and you're all set to write Flutter and Rust together. There are no webviews, web servers, hidden threads, or unnecessary memory copying that might cause performance overhead. This setup acts as a very thin wrapper around Dart and Rust. This is not a bulky framework that requires you to install so many dependencies and use complicated CLI commands. Just focus on your code using your preferred Flutter and Rust libraries. Creating hundreds or even thousands of message APIs between Dart and Rust feels smooth and clean. Additionally, you have the flexibility to utilize any number of Rust library crates, perhaps including those you might have been working on.

    Riverpod

    Riverpod

A reactive caching and data-binding framework

Riverpod is a modern, framework-agnostic state management and dependency injection library for Dart and Flutter that emphasizes compile-time safety and explicit data flow. Instead of tying state to widget trees, it models state as providers that can be read anywhere, making logic more testable and decoupled from UI. It supports synchronous state, async data (futures/streams) with built-in loading/error handling, and advanced patterns like derived state and provider scopes. Riverpod’s design reduces rebuilds by letting widgets depend on fine-grained slices of state, which leads to predictable performance in complex apps. The ecosystem includes code generation and utilities that help catch invalid provider usage at compile time rather than at runtime. Overall, it encourages a clear separation of concerns and scales cleanly from small prototypes to large, multi-module applications.

    RxDart

    RxDart

    The Reactive Extensions for Dart

RxDart is a reactive programming toolkit that augments Dart’s native Streams with a rich set of Rx-style operators and subjects. It offers composition primitives like map, where, debounce, throttle, merge, combineLatest, and switchMap, enabling expressive pipelines for events and async data. Subjects provide multicast behaviors so multiple listeners can share a single data source while maintaining semantics like replaying the latest value. By emphasizing immutability and one-way data flow, RxDart helps isolate side effects and makes complex state transitions easier to reason about. It’s widely used to coordinate UI events, network requests, and caching layers, especially when timing and concurrency are non-trivial. The library aims to stay idiomatic with Dart Streams while giving developers the ergonomic power long associated with the ReactiveX family. In practice, it encourages clear separation between data producers, transformers, and consumers.

    ShowCaseView

    ShowCaseView

Flutter plugin that allows you to showcase features on flutter app

A Flutter package allows you to Showcase/Highlight your widgets step by step. Auto Scrolling to active showcase feature will not work properly in scroll views that renders widgets on demand(ex, ListView, GridView). In order to scroll to a widget it needs to be attached with widget tree. So, If you are using a scrollview that renders widgets on demand, it is possible that the widget on which showcase is applied is not attached in widget tree. So, flutter won't be able to scroll to that widget. So, If you want to make a scroll view that contains less number of children widget then prefer to use SingleChildScrollView.
