Linux Test Project (LTP) is a joint project started by SGI, OSDL and Bull developed and maintained by SUSE, Red Hat, Fujitsu, IBM, Cisco, Oracle and others. The project goal is to deliver tests to the open source community that validate reliability, robustness, and stability of the Linux Kernel. The testing suites contain a collection of tools for testing the Linux kernel and related features. Our goal is to improve the Linux kernel and system libraries by bringing test automation.

SocketTest - powerful and small software tool for socket testing. It can create both TCP and UDP client or server. It can be used to test any server or client that uses TCP or UDP protocol to communicate.

The RecordEditor is a Data File editor for Flat Files (delimited and fixed field position). It supports Unix / PC / Legacy (e.g. Mainframe) file formats, both Text and binary files. The Editor uses a Record-Layout description to format the files. This is ideal for Fixed width (Text or Binary) files, Cobol Data Files, Mainframe files and complicated Csv files. Cobol Copybooks can be used to format Cobol Data files. Prime95 is a popular software tool used primarily for stress testing and benchmarking computer processors by running intense calculations based on the Mersenne prime search algorithm. SSLScan queries SSL services, such as HTTPS, in order to determine the ciphers that are supported. SSLScan is designed to be easy, lean and fast. The output includes prefered ciphers of the SSL service, the certificate and is in Text and XML formats.

Serial line sniffer (slsnif). slsnif is a serial port logging utility. It listens to the specified serial port and logs all data going through this port in both directions.

Cinemagoer is a Python package useful to retrieve and manage the data of the IMDb movie database about movies, people, characters and companies. Platform-independent, it can retrieve data from both the IMDb's web server and a local copy of the whole db.

The Open POSIX Test Suite is a test suite for POSIX 2001 APIs, not tied to specific implementations. It provides conformance, functional, and stress testing. Initial focus is on Threads, Clocks & Timers, Signals, Message Queues, and Semaphores.
