Nixstaller is an Open Source project with the goal to create user friendly and flexible installers that work on various UNIX like systems. Some of its features are: small size overhead, large compatibility, Lua scripting and few dependencies.

antigift could be used for encryption files & folders on USB-flash or HDD partition. Works on Linux (including Android), Windows, Mac OS X, FreeBSD, DragonFly BSD and other on OSes. Do not required installation. Include WIPE tool for wiping free space and tool for recovery forgotten key. bashup is a shell script for backing up data on remote hosts. It has minimal requirements and features sophisticated reporting and rotation functions.

CMage provides the ability to create an image of a filesystem on an IDE/SATA device and apply the image to a second hard drive of either IDE or SATA with a smaller, equal, or larger device size. CMage is run from a linux based liveCD on the terminal.

dumpnet is a collection of bash scripts that allows you to backup multiple servers simultaneously. You can do incremental file system dumps with tar, dump and rsync, backup databases and much more. AIDE can also easily be integrated.

r5backup is a backup script using rsync and ssh to make backups. It can handle remote hosts, is rapid and reliable. r5backup comes with 5 scripts: the main backup script, a scheduler, a launcher for remote invocation, an admin tool and a recover tool

Utilizes common unix utilities to provide a simple backup solution. Like Apple's Time Machine, sbak uses hard-links to minimize disk usage. Reduces data transfer by using compressed rsync transfers. Web interface and subscription service coming soon.
