    TableExport

    TableExport

The simple, easy-to-implement library to export HTML tables to xlsx

The simple, easy-to-implement library to export HTML tables to xlsx, xls, csv, and txt files. To use this library, include the FileSaver.js library, and TableExport library before the closing body tag of your HTML document. In order to provide Office Open XML SpreadsheetML Format ( .xlsx ) support, you must include the following third-party library in your project before both FileSaver.js and TableExport. To support legacy browsers ( Chrome < 20, Firefox 13, Opera 12.10, IE, 10, Safari 6 ) include the Blob.js polyfill before the FileSaver.js script. Additional properties can be passed-in to customize the look and feel of your tables, buttons, and exported data. Notice that by default, TableExport will create export buttons for three different filetypes xls, csv, txt. You can choose which buttons to generate by setting the formats property to the filetype(s) of your choice.

A boilerplate for REST API Development with Node.js, Express, etc.

A ready-to-use boilerplate for REST API Development with Node.js, Express, and MongoDB. This is a basic API skeleton written in JavaScript ES2015. Very useful to building RESTful web APIs for your front-end platforms like Android, iOS or JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Reactjs, etc). This project will run on NodeJs using MongoDB as a database. I tried to maintain the code structure easily as any beginner can also adopt the flow and start building an API. The project is open for suggestions, Bug reports and pull requests. Basic Authentication (Register/Login with hashed password). Account confirmation with 4 (Changeable) digit OTP. Email helper ready just import and use. JWT Tokens, make requests with a token after login with Authorization header with value Bearer yourToken where yourToken will be returned in Login response. Pre-defined response structures with proper status codes. Included CORS. Book example with CRUD operations. Validations added.

    node-rate-limiter-flexible

    node-rate-limiter-flexible

Count and limit requests by key with atomic increments

rate-limiter-flexible counts and limits number of actions by key and protects from DDoS and brute force attacks at any scale. It works with Redis, process Memory, Cluster or PM2, Memcached, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL and allows to control of requests rate in single process or distributed environment. All operations in memory or distributed environments use atomic increments against race conditions. Combine limiters, block key for some duration, delay actions, manage failover with insurance options, configure smart key blocking in memory and many others. Average request takes 0.7ms in Cluster and 2.5ms in a Distributed application. See benchmarks. It provides a unified API for all limiters. Whenever your application grows, it is ready. Prepare your limiters in minutes. No matter which node package you prefer: redis or ioredis, sequelize/typeorm or knex, memcached, native driver or mongoose. It works with all of them.

    Cabin

    Cabin

Cabin is the best JavaScript and Node.js logging service and logging

Cabin is the best JavaScript and Node.js logging service and logging npm package. Cabin is a drop-in replacement and the best alternative to Sentry, Timber, Airbrake, Papertrail, Loggly, Bugsnag, etc. Cabin will automatically detect and mask the following list of extremely sensitive types of data in your logs. Reduce your disk storage costs through Cabin's automatic conversion of Streams, Buffers, and ArrayBuffers to simplified, descriptive-only objects that otherwise would be unreadable (and obviously pollute your log files and disk storage). Cabin works with the most popular Node.js HTTP frameworks (e.g. Express and Koa), request body handling packages (e.g. multer and body-parser), and the passport authentication framework. It supports Node v6.4+ and IE 10+ out of the box, and its browser-ready bundle is only 39 KB (minified and gzipped).

    Koa2 RESTful API

    Koa2 RESTful API

    RESTful API Server

This is a lightweight RESTful API Server scaffolding based on Koa2, supporting ES6. Since the Koa version is upgraded to 2.3.0+, in order to match the corresponding dependencies, the Node.js version is required to be greater than or equal to v8.0.0 (v11.13.0 is recommended), and the NPM version is greater than or equal to v5.0.0. It is recommended to use yarn instead of npm. This scaffolding only installs some necessary plug-ins that do not conflict with Koa2 to build a RESTful API Server, with instructions for each plug-in. Syntax checking with ESlint. Therefore, the scaffolding mainly provides RESTful API, so the front-end static resource processing is not considered for the time being, and only the basic method of static resource access is provided to facilitate access to resources such as pictures uploaded by users to the server. The basic directory structure is consistent with vue-cli and can be used with front-end frameworks such as React, AngularJS, and Vue.js.

    RESTful API Node Server Boilerplate

    RESTful API Node Server Boilerplate

A boilerplate for building production-ready RESTful APIs using Node.js

A boilerplate/starter project for quickly building RESTful APIs using Node.js, Express, and Mongoose. By running a single command, you will get a production-ready Node.js app installed and fully configured on your machine. The app comes with many built-in features, such as authentication using JWT, request validation, unit and integration tests, continuous integration, docker support, API documentation, pagination, etc. The app has a utility ApiError class to which you can attach a response code and a message, and then throw it from anywhere (catchAsync will catch it). Request data is validated using Joi. Check the documentation for more details on how to write Joi validation schemas. In production mode, only info, warn, and error logs will be printed to the console. It is up to the server (or process manager) to actually read them from the console and store them in log files.

    apicache

    apicache

    Simple API-caching middleware for Express/Node

Simple API-caching middleware for Express/Node. A simple API response caching middleware for Express/Node using plain-English durations. Supports Redis or a built-in memory engine with auto-clearing. Because route-caching of simple data/responses should also be simple. Sometimes you need custom keys (e.g. save routes per session, or per method). We've made it easy! All req/res attributes used in the generation of the key must have been set previously (upstream). The entire route logic block is skipped on future cache hits so it can't rely on those parameters. Oftentimes it benefits us to group cache entries, for example, by collection (in an API). This would enable us to clear all cached "post" requests if we updated something in the "post" collection for instance. When sharing GET routes between admin and public sites, you'll likely want the routes to be cached from your public client, but NOT cached when from the admin client.

    celebrate

    celebrate

A joi validation middleware for Express

celebrate is an express middleware function that wraps the joi validation library. This allows you to use this middleware in any single route, or globally, and ensure that all of your inputs are correct before any handler function. The middleware allows you to validate req.params, req.headers, and req.query. celebrate lists joi as a formal dependency. This means that celebrate will always use a predictable, known version of joi during the validation and compilation steps. celebrate is tested and has full compatibility with express 4 and 5. It likely works correctly with express 3, but including it in the test matrix was more trouble than it's worth. This is primarily because express 3 exposes route parameters as an array rather than an object. Returns a function with the error handler signature ((err, req, res, next)). This should be placed with any other error handling middleware to catch celebrate errors.

    chat.io

    chat.io

A Real Time Chat Application built using Node.js, Express, Mongoose

A Real-Time Chat Application built using Node.js, Express, Mongoose, Socket.io, Passport, & Redis. The configurations on production will be assigned from Environment Variables on Heroku, while the development configurations reside inside app/config/config.json file. You need to create a database on MongoLab, then create a database user, get the MongoDB URI, and assign it to dbURI. You need to register a new application on both Facebook and Twitter to get your tokens by which users can grant access to your application, and log in using their social accounts. The session needs a random string to make sure the session id in the browser is random. That random string is used to encrypt the session id in the browser, Why? To prevent session id guessing. Each user has a username, password, social Id, and picture. If the user is logged in via username and password, then the social Id has to be null, and the if logged in via a social account, then the password will be null.

    express-status-monitor

    express-status-monitor

Realtime Monitoring solution for Node.js/Express.js apps

Simple, self-hosted module based on Socket.io and Chart.js to report real-time server metrics for Express-based node servers. Monitor can be configured by passing options object into expressMonitor constructor. You can add a series of health checks to the configuration that will appear below the other stats. The health check will be considered successful if the endpoint returns a 200 status code. The HTML page handler is exposed as a pageRoute property on the main middleware function. So the middleware is mounted to intercept all requests while the HTML page handler will be authenticated. If you're using socket.io in your project, this module could break your project because this module by default will spawn its own socket.io instance. To mitigate that, fill websocket parameter with your main socket.io instance as well as port parameter.

    express-vue

    express-vue

Vue rendering engine for Express.js. Use .Vue files as templates

A Simple way of using Server Side rendered Vue.js 2.0+ natively in Express using streams. If you want to use vue.js and setup a large-scale web application that is server-side rendered, using Node+Express, but you want to use all the fantastic tools given to you by Vue.js. Then this is the library for you. The idea is simple use Node+Express for your Controller and Models, and Vue.js for your Views.. you can have a secure server-side rendered website without all the hassle. Your Controller will pass in the data to your View through. Requires Node V6 or greater, and Vue 2.0 or greater. (Latest Vue.js is included in this project) To use Data binding into the vue files you need to pass data in through the data object as above. express-vue will automatically add anything you put here to the root element of your Vue components. You do not need to have anything in data in your .vue file, but if you did what you put in res.render will overwrite it.

    graphql-upload

    graphql-upload

Middleware and an Upload scalar to add support for GraphQL multipart

Middleware and an Upload scalar to add support for GraphQL multipart requests (file uploads via queries and mutations) to various Node.js GraphQL servers. Clients implementing the GraphQL multipart request spec upload files as Upload scalar query or mutation variables. Their resolver values are promises that resolve file upload details for processing and storage. Files are typically streamed into cloud storage but may also be stored in the filesystem. Use the middleware graphqlUploadKoa or graphqlUploadExpress just before GraphQL middleware. Alternatively, use the function processRequest to create custom middleware. The process must have both read and write access to the directory identified by os.tmpdir(). The device requires sufficient disk space to buffer the expected number of concurrent upload requests. Promisify and await file upload streams in resolvers or the server will send a response to the client before uploads are complete, causing a disconnect.

    node-js-getting-started

    node-js-getting-started

Getting Started with Node on Heroku

A barebones Node.js app using Express 4. This application supports the Getting Started on Heroku with Node.js article. Make sure you have Node.js and the Heroku CLI installed. For more information about using Node.js on Heroku, see these Dev Center articles. When you create an app, a git remote (called heroku) is also created and associated with your local git repository. Heroku generates a random name (in this case sharp-rain-871) for your app, or you can pass a parameter to specify your own app name. Heroku treats logs as streams of time-ordered events aggregated from the output streams of all your app and Heroku components, providing a single channel for all of the events. Procfiles can contain additional process types. For example, you might declare one for a background worker process that processes items off of a queue.

    nodejs-integration-tests-best-practices

    nodejs-integration-tests-best-practices

Beyond the basics of Node.js testing

Component/integration test is a hybrid between E2E and unit tets. It's gaining a lot of popularity and going by the testing diamond model it is considered as the default technique for the modern backend. Its main idea is testing an entire component (e.g., Microservice) as-is, through the API, with all the layers including the database but fake anything extraneous. This brings both high confidence and great developer experience. However, doing it right, fast, exhaustive and maximizing the value demand some learning and skills. This is the mission statement of this repo. Warning: You might fall in love with testing. Detailed instructions on how to write component tests in the RIGHT way including code example and reference to the example application. A Complete showcase of a typical Node.js backend with performant tests setup (50 tests in 4 seconds! including database!)
