Recently upgraded to the latest Clonezilla.
What used to take at most 2 hours to backup I stopped after 9 hours.
Transferring to an external USB3 drive.
Backup speed starts at 11G/min and degrades to the point of being unusable.
I did diagnosis on the external drive and it is fine.
Using a framework computer:
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-1165G7
Storage: 1TB - WD_BLACK™ SN750 NVMe™
Memory: 32GB (1 x 32GB) DDR4-3200
NOTE: image is capture when backup is doing a verify and I stopped it.
So have you tried Clonezilla live 20221103-kinetic or 3.0.2-21?

They come with newer Linux kernel and are the release candidate for the next stable releases.

Tried 20221103-kinetic... no improvement. It's possible it drops speed even faster.
