Hi everyone, I couldn't find much information about the ticketsmith in official docs, so here are my questions. In the ticketsmith, what is the difference between the "date" and "followup" columns? And how come their values keep increasing when a ticket is closed? Thanks! |

Hello: We were finishing spanish l10n of dotProject, as previously told. We have found a problem with the translation of week-day names on the calendars. It seems that dotProject uses some PEAR functions to translate t= he week-day names and set the names for the calendar using the dotproject loca= les. That means problems in accents and tildes related to diferent charsets. After a bit troubling with lang.php and reading a relevant question on the forum, it did not help: http://www.dotproject.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=3D3559 we found the (apparently only) solution in the case of our server was a li= ttle dirty patch in the PHP code. That (really dirty) patch would only work for = a spanish localization as diferent languages use different charsets. It would be nice to have a better solution. Any help, comment, suggestion = about it? The patch follows: <patch> diff -rc dotproject/lib/PEAR/Date/Calc.php dotproject-new/lib/PEAR/Date/Cal= c.php *** dotproject/lib/PEAR/Date/Calc.php=09Thu Feb 3 01:43:19 2005 --- dotproject-new/lib/PEAR/Date/Calc.php=09Mon Oct 10 13:06:19 2005 *************** *** 1579,1586 **** { for($i=3D1;$i<13;$i++){ $months[$i] =3D strftime('%B', mktime(0, 0, 0, $i, 1, 2001)); ! } ! return($months); } /** --- 1579,1590 ---- { for($i=3D1;$i<13;$i++){ $months[$i] =3D strftime('%B', mktime(0, 0, 0, $i, 1, 2001)); ! =09=09=09$latin_1 =3D array('=C3=A1', '=C3=A9', '=C3=AD', '=C3=BA', '=C3= =B1', '=C3=81', '=C3=89', '=C3=8D', '=C3=93', '=C3=9A', '=C3=91'); ! =09=09=09$utf_8 =3D array( '=C3=83=C2=A1', '=C3=83=C2=A9', '=C3=83=C2=AD'= , '=C3=83=C2=BA', '=C3=83=C2=B1', '=C3=83=C2=81', '=C3=83=C2=89', '=C3=83=C2=8D', '=C3=83=C2=93', '=C3=83=C2=9A', '=C3=83=C2=91'); ! ! =09=09=09$weekdays[$i] =3D str_replace($utf_8, $latin_1, $weekdays[$i]); ! =09=09} ! =09=09return($months); } /** *************** *** 1596,1601 **** --- 1600,1609 ---- { for($i=3D0;$i<7;$i++){ $weekdays[$i] =3D strftime('%A', mktime(0, 0, 0, 1, $i, 2001)= ); + =09=09=09$latin_1 =3D array('=C3=A1', '=C3=A9', '=C3=AD', '=C3=BA', '=C3= =B1', '=C3=81', '=C3=89', '=C3=8D', '=C3=93', '=C3=9A', '=C3=91'); + =09=09=09$utf_8 =3D array( '=C3=83=C2=A1', '=C3=83=C2=A9', '=C3=83=C2=AD'= , '=C3=83=C2=BA', '=C3=83=C2=B1', '=C3=83=C2=81', '=C3=83=C2=89', '=C3=83=C2=8D', '=C3=83=C2=93', '=C3=83=C2=9A', '=C3=83=C2=91'); + + =09=09=09$weekdays[$i] =3D str_replace($utf_8, $latin_1, $weekdays[$i]); } return($weekdays); } </patch> Yours -- Gabriel N=C3=BA=C3=B1ez ga...@hi... ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program. |

Hello all, I noticed that when I create or update an user and fill in his/her personal details, the company I've assigned to it is incompatible with th= e contacts-module. To be more specific, user preferences -view shows the name of the assigne= d company, which is correct and contacts-view the id numer of the company, which is not in my opinion. And if I correct this false company assignment from the contacts-view, DP creates a double entry of the contact. Please see the user preferences -view: <http://www.pallokala.org/dotproject_edit_user.png> and contacts-view: <http://www.pallokala.org/dotproject_contacts.png> I am running a CVS version dated to today. I know that the dP perms as a whole needs a rewrite, but the HelpDesk module really has a need for some basic perms flexability. So I'm going to mod the current perms system to at least eliminate the hard coding on specific modules, and open it up a little for mod authors. See the chat log below for a real basic outline. -Dana Cordes 11:15 <@Bloater> $pgos = array( 11:15 <@Bloater> I'files' => 'file_name', 11:15 <@Bloater> I'users' => 'user_username', 11:15 <@Bloater> I'projects' => 'project_name', 11:15 <@Bloater> I'tasks' => 'task_name', 11:15 <@Bloater> I'companies' => 'company_name', 11:15 <@Bloater> I'forums' => 'forum_name' 11:16 <@Bloater> Is hard coded in \dotproject\modules\admin\vw_usr_perms.php 11:16 <@Bloater> We'd just need to extend that list. 11:16 <@Bloater> Oh. 11:16 <@Bloater> ok, 11:16 <@Bloater> So it can use that as the default list. 11:17 <@Bloater> But as it populates it's drop down of modules, it checks the setup.php of each for the config table and field. 11:17 <@Bloater> The perm table is generic enough. 11:17 <@Deicide> exactly 11:18 <@Bloater> permission_grant_on is the module name. 11:18 <@Deicide> it does check it??? 11:18 -!- ziba [~zi...@pl...] has joined #dphelpdesk 11:18 <@Bloater> not currently. 11:18 <@Deicide> right, ok, sorry, I misread 11:19 * mgatny punches tds metrocom in the face 11:19 * Deicide smacks Ziba with a large trout 11:19 <@Bloater> Also, at line 115 it needs soem JavaScript additions. 11:19 <@Deicide> yep, I see that too 11:19 <@Deicide> I think we could pull this one off 11:19 < mgatny> ziba: nice reverse dns -> plmomibyedg01-xdata1-a37.plmomi.tds.net 11:20 <@Bloater> So, we could lock perms of any module to any existing table/field. 11:20 < ziba> I'll reverse YOUR dns! 11:20 <@Bloater> But only one. 11:20 <@Deicide> that's what you showed up as as well 11:20 <@Deicide> yeah, but we'd only need companies for now, no? 11:20 <@Bloater> Right. 11:20 <@Bloater> It's stop gap, but a good generic stop gap. 11:21 < mgatny> agreed |

Hey folks, I posted to the mailing list about this, and received no response. However, I went and patched this code anyway to work with the user preferences. These patches have the following caveats: 1. They will not withstand an upgrade of JPGraph. I created new constants in the JPGraph code, which I doubt will be added to their library. I chedked the latest version of JPGraph, however, and it doesn't look like they will be adding the date support anytime soon. 2. New date formats added to dotproject will require changes to the code. I propose that the developer come up with a framework so that the dateformat is passed seemlessly to JPGraph. Rather than using JPGraph's setStyle method, some of the lower level logic may help to accomplish this. 3. After you apply the patches, you can change your date preferences, but you need to log out and log back in to view the new date format. This isn't a limitation of my patches, but it is just the way dotproject seems to work. Two files have been edited, and need to be patched. lib/jpgraph/src/jpgraph_gantt.php modules/tasks/gantt.php To apply the patches, drop each patch in the appropriate directory and type: patch jpgraph_gantt.php < jpgraph_gantt.php.patch patch gantt.php < gantt.php.patch I really like dotproject, and will continue to use it in the future - thanks for a great product! Find a tar.gz of my patches at sourceforge. I hope they are helpful to someone! Thanks, Tom http://www.liphp.org |

Hello Everyone, My name is Tom, and I am now using dotproject and am new to this list. I like the software alot, but the bug involving Gantt chart and the 'week' labels is driving me crazy. I had a look at it, and from what I see so far is that JPGraph doesn't support all of the date format options that dotproject does, which is really the root of the problem. From what I see in the dotproject code, it is hard-coded to WEEKSTYLE_FIRSTDAY because that is probably the best option for all given the limitation in JPGraph. For us in the US, we like to format our dates as: 5/13 (for May 13th). I just downloaded the latest stable from the JPGraph guys, and they still seem to only support the same options. I can come up with new constants for JPGraph and submit these to them, and submit a patch to you as well, so that it will support all of those formats (probably more of a chore than I realize, I'm sure). However, I am curious to know why this wasn't done before. Have you found that the JPGraph folks are unreceptive to patches? I noticed that their bug system was down, and it wasn't immediately apparent to me as to how to submit patches from their site. Anything I should know before embarking on this? For those of us who need this now, and want to 'cheat', you can simply change the format string passed to the date function on line 1017 (dotproject 1.0.2) of jpgraph_gantt.php (located in lib\jpgraph\src) to be whatever you like. For example, for me, I can just switch the string from "j/n" to "n/j" and that will give me the 5/13 (May 13th) format that I like. Of course, this is not the correct way to do this, and it will not be hooked up to the GUI nor will it withstand an upgrade. But, it does work today. So, before I embark on this journey, got any tips, info or advice? Thanks, Tom |

I'd just like to announce version .02 of the TimeCard module. This module uses existing task logs to build a time card like interface to recording time spent, and reporting that time in a centralized fashion. The two largest additions to version .02 are: -Permissions System Integration. If a user has only limited access to a few companies, then only staff from those companies will be displayed. -Reporting Interface. Infrastructure for additional report, and the addition of a time logged/week report. This will allow you to quickly see how many hours have been logged in a over several weeks for all users in the system, or just a company at a time. This reporting also takes company permissions into account. You can get this module directly out of CVS reportitory in the "timecard" directory. -Dana Cordes |

Remove that line from the SQL statement and it should work. -- Kevin M. Click on the "All Projects" tab and see if it shows up there. If it does, there should be a column called "Project Status". Check to see what the current status is. Looking at the backend will give you some information, but looking at it this way is much better. Also, all support/forums/etc has been transfered over to: http://dotproject.net/index.php Keith --- Oliver Schade <os...@PR...> wrote: > Hi everybody, > > > I recently introduced Dotproject as main management tool for our > Consulting departement. Hi everybody, I recently introduced Dotproject as main management tool for our Consulting departement. At the moment, everybody copies data from old fashioned Excel-files to Dotproject... However, users tell me that they are missing active projects. They (the projects) are invisible using Dotproject->Projects->Active. They are available using All Projects->Company X. They are invisible using either Employee, Manager or Administrator status, but are visible using phpMyAdmin on table projects selecting project_active = 1 and project_status = 3. On 15 active projects we are missing around 7. Any ideas? Thanks a lot, Oliver -- pro|business Berlin AG os...@pr...
