Dear gnuwin32.sourceforge.net users
Hardly after one day there is urgent need for a new release: Due to changes of one of the gnuwin32 commands (sed.exe) I need myself for development all .BAT and .TXT file in the package getgnuwin32-0.6.20 had unix style line endings causing the windows command interpreter to issue an error like: cannot find the batch label specified - end_download_project_site. This (besides another little bug) is now corrected.... read more
Dear gnuwin32.sourceforge.net users
I'm glad to announce a new version of getgnuwin32, that now runs on windows vista and can handle the new web layout of sourceforge.net.
Thanks to Jay Satiro <raysatiro@users.sourceforge.net> -- he did the actual work!
With best regards

Dear gnuwin32.sourceforge.net users
Sometimes, GetGnuWin32, the automated download tool for gnuwin32 packages, retrieves only a part of the gnuwin32 main project site. Since this is a problem of sourceforge.net, this can't be corrected within GetGnuWin32. However GetGnuWin32 has now learned to handle this situation quite well: It needs only a part of the gnuwin32 main project site to to its job.
Enjoy it! ... read more
Dear gnuwin32.sourceforge.net users
Sometimes getgnuwin32, the automated download tool for gnuwin32 packages, retrieved only a part of the file list from the gnuwin32 project site on sourceforge.net. This led to an undefined behaviour of getgnuwin32, since the download tool didn't remark that the retrieved file list was invalid.
This drawback is now hopefully eliminated with the new version 0.6.18 of getgnuwin32.... read more
Dear gnuwin32.sourceforge.net users
Due to changes of the web interface at sourceforge.net a corresponding
update of getgnuwin32 was needed. Ruslan Gainutdinov not only realized
that, but applied immediately a working patch. Many thanks!

Dear gnuwin32.sourceforge.net users
GetGnuWin32-0.6.16 is a bug fix release: It prevents the script update-links.bat to write a wrong path into the helper file set_gnuwin32.bat -- that's all. See the history notes for more details. Thanks to Daniel Lundell for this hint.
Best regards

Dear gnuwin32.sourceforge.net users
A new version 0.6.15 of the automated gnuwin32 download tool is released. It aims to be useful for people who want a movable gnuwin32 installation, e.g. on a memory stick. To achieve this goal the batch file update-links.bat was improved: It can now be run more than once, e.g. every time the gnuwin32 folder has been moved. To gain performance, update-links.bat creates a protocol file named update-links.txt when started the first time, and accesses to that file after each subsequent run. If update-links.txt is lost by some reasons, update-links.bat recreates it.... read more
Dear gnuwin32.sourceforge.net users
A new version 0.6.14 of the automated gnuwin32 download tool is released. It comes only with only one "bug fix" -- in truth with a workaround:
On very rare cases, update-links.bat fails to create valid shortcuts. This is due an unexpected behaviour of mkshortcut.exe version 1.7 from the cygwin package. I was reported that this behaviour vanishes by applying the -d option. This is why update-links.bat now applies the -d option to mkshortcut.... read more
Dear gnuwin32.sourceforge.net users
A new version 0.6.13 of the automated gnuwin32 download tool is released. It comes with following changes:
* After installation of gnuwin32, a new shortcut to %windir%\system32\cmd.exe is created within the Windows Start Menu. By activating this shortcut, cmd.exe automatically runs a BATCH file called set_gnuwin32.bat that not only sets the window title appropriately, but also sets all environment variable (inclusive PATH) as necessary.... read more
Dear users of gnuwin32.sourceforge.net
I am proud to announce the release 0.6.12 of the getgnuwin32 project. It consist mainly of a view BATCH files that can be run on windows xp (and perhaps windows 2000/NT to). This BATCH scripts automate the process of selecting the newest binary and documentation gnuwin32 packages and downloading them. See http://getgnuwin32.sourceforge.net
Please don't misunderstanding me: Not all packages are downloaded, but only about 10% of all packages, namely only the newest binary, library, dependency and documentation packages. No sources and no installers however. The selection of the packages is done fully automatically.... read more
