Can (the current and) any new release for OS/2 be statically linked?

Conflicting DLL filenames, like yet another JPEG.DLL, can be avoided that way. Users do have an alternative with system settings, but that is significantly more complicated than a statically linked executable without exceptional DLL files.

An alternative for linking statically is using a "generic" DLL like the ones at netlabs.org, but I guess you may want to use your own versions of DLLs. If so, please link statically instead of dynamic.
