article in Javamagazin (German)

We're in the press again: We've published an article about the brand new REST features of JSF-Spring 4.0 titled "RESTful JSF" in the current issue of Javamagazin, 4.07, page 83: http://javamagazin.de/itr/ausgaben/psecom,id,345,nodeid,20.html

4.0

We're final! 4.0 is out, providing all the announced features. Unfortunately, the website isn't up to date yet, since we had problems with shell access to SF. We'll update it as soon as possible so that you have access to the documentation online. If you can't wait, the docs are included in the download as well.

Hope you'll enjoy the release, please post feedback,
Thomas

release candidate 1 for 4.0

We've got a release candidate for the all new and exciting version 4!

The new features announced in the weblog article are all implemented in this release, namely SpringMVC controller integration and GET requests.

We're hoping to get out the next RCs out quickly to fix all bugs, so please download, test and file bugs. 4.0 final ist planned for early 2007.

Along the way, the documentation is growing. At the moment, we've only got the structure for our reference documentation, but now we've got that set up we'll continually work on filling the different sections.... read more

3.0.0

As announced on our weblog, we've promoted RC3 to final now. And: We finally have a tiny little quickstart guide to answer all those questions on how to setup an application using jsf-spring. I hope this will help some people.

Cheers, Thomas

Upcoming Features of JSF-Spring

Spring 2.0 is out, so it's time for a new release. Luckily, we're able to concentrate on JSF-Spring again. Expect an all new version soon (alright, after promoting 3.0.0 RC2 to final first...). For an overview about the upcoming features, visit my weblog entry at:

release candidate 2 for 3.0.0

Another RC with some bugfixes. Still no final release, though. This should follow soon, after Andy's back from jax conference (http://www.jax.de/) where he's doing a talk about jsf-spring today. Documentation will hopefully advance more quickly now that some volunteers offered to contribute. Thank you very much in advance!

Cheers,
Thomas

release candidate 1 for 3.0.0

The first release canditate for 3.0.0 is out! This mainly contains bugfixes. We're feature complete and bug free now. We seem to at least. :) Please download, test and give us feedback. We're hoping to release the final 3.0.0 soon. That one should finally contain some documentation, then.

Cheers,
Thomas

announcement: new team member

Let me introduce you to a new team member: Wolfgang Wopperer, one of our workmates, has thoroughly familiarized himself with jsf-spring with the support of Andreas and is now raring to go. His main responsibility as a committer will be documentation. He's also our promotion guru, keeping public attention on the project and arranging valuable contacts. Welcome to the team!

article in Javamagazin (German)

I haven't mentioned here yet, but we're very proud to be in the press: Matthias Weßendorf published an article covering the integration of JSF and Spring in the German monthly magazine "Javamagazin", issue 01/2006, page 92: http://www.java-magazin.de/itr/ausgaben/psecom,id,296,nodeid,20.html

One major part of the article covers jsf-spring. Thank you very much, Matthias!

new milestone 3.0.0M3

We got out a new milestone accumulating quite some new major features. Have a look at the changelog on our home page and - of course and as always - at the testsuite which uses all the features.

We know, understanding the testsuite's "examples" is tedious, but we've got good news: The javadoc has been updated, so some things might become easier now - one major drawback of the recent versions we finally eliminated as a small christmas present to all of you. And to create some hope in those suffering from the lack of documentation: We're currently working on a handbook! Don't expect it within the next weeks, but keep up your expectations.... read more

users forum added

We've just added the forum "Users". This forum is a starting point for questions concerning the usage of jsf-spring. We as developers will monitor this forum and reply to questions, but the main purpose is to allow users to discuss usage scenarios and help each other with basic problems.

Happy discussing,
jsf-spring development team

minor improvements

Andreas posted a new version (2.7) today ensuring compatibility with SpringFramework 1.1.2 - 1.1.4 and fixing some major bugs when using Spring's AOP-features within a JSF configuration.

This is just a first step, further improvements will follow. We're sorry that we've been quiet for so long. In the last posting, I said something about a new release in November... we had quite some commercial work to do and didn't have much time. This won't change much soon, but we hope to make a more steady progress even if it is slow.... read more

new version delayed...

We already incorporated some bug fixes and refactored the project a bit. Unfortunately, we won't manage to package a new version for the next few weeks. Holidays have a higher priority. :) But be prepared to download a new release by mid/end of november.

Just to let you know about our progress.
