Hi, please note that each single file has it's own checksum. Your picture is showing the checksum of the README textfile, not of the .deb file or the source file. I have checked the checksum's of: "pdfgrepgui_0.9.2-1_amd64.deb" and "pdfgrepgui_0.9.2_source.zip" I can confirm that the MD5 and SHA1 hashes of Sourceforge are the same as the hashes on my harddrive. I have installed qpdfview and I've changed in the options - preferences - PDF Viewer to: qpdfview --search $SEARCH $FILE#$PAGE Unfortunately that did not work, so I've changed it to: qpdfview --search $SEARCH $FILE This worked, but you are sometimes not on the correct page, as always only the first page with the search string will be shown. Perhaps I can change this in the next version. If you want to use Okular please try: okular --find $SEARCH -p $PAGE $FILE If...

I do not mind either qpdfview or Okular. I will try any other PDF viewers out there for Linux. But I prefer qpdfview better. Your help to the above problem would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, Just installed the PDFGrepGUI. Liked the GUI version very much but when I double-click on the file (in the Result field), it popped up with an error message stating that it could not open the PDF file (qpdfview program did open but blank with this error message). When I tried to change it to Okular, it came up with an error "Okular not found" and did not run Okular. Could anyone help please? Thank you.

Hi, I would like to suggest an improvement in displaying the results. It would be very helpful to optionally show the the filename where the token searched for was found also without the full path (so only the filename itself). I'd appreciate a lot if you could make this available in one of the next versions. Thanks, Armin

Hello, in Version 0.6.0 following SymLinks can be deactivated. This should solve the problem. There is also a commandline option -nosyml, in order to deactivate symlinks at startup. Best regards Stephan

Hello Georg, I am sorry that is not working in your configuration, perhaps you can change the links, that they are not referencing themselves. Unfortunately it is not possible - or I didn't found it - to stop the used procedures to follow links. I will keep this in mind, perhaps I will find a solution for this later. Thanks for adding the log option. My complete logfiles stay private because of senistive information in naming of directories. Hi Georg, I had some time and I've installed Ubuntu 20.04. I also added some thousands pdf files, but I was not able to reproduce the problem. Perhaps a fresh installed system with nothing except of some pdf files does not make problems. I have now added a logging in the program (new version 0.4.1), which logs the startup of the program. Please install the new version and start the program from a command prompt: "pdfgrepgui -log -anonym" and send me the logfile (homedir/.config/pdfgrepgui/log.txt),...

Hi Georg, thank you for you email. It looks like that I have to look deeper in this. On my system (debian bullseye) I don't have these problems (or not seen until today), also not when using nfs. When I open a nfs folder with >20k files, it takes about 15 seconds, until the program shows 8255 pdf files in the box. In my home directory I have less files (~1300) and it is very fast, when opening the program (less than 2 sek for showing ~2k pdf files). I will install ubuntu 20.04 and I will try to reproduce...
