It would be nice to have a separate wifi enabled ebook friendly page. It should be simple html supported by outdated browsers and contrast e-ink friendly design.

    To the other point I agree with you. The HTML template right now is a 1 page design, and the functionality required to use the server could be easily done with plain text links. I will certainly look into providing a slimmer interface option for older devices!

    That's not what I meant, I was talking about ebooks with wifi.

    Here are some points to keep in mind when making such 'legacy' or 'e-ink friendly' page:

    • Black and white high contrast is best as most e-books are monochrome and not every e-ink display renders shades well
    • Legacy browser support, just stick to plain HTML compatible with HTML 4, no animations
    • Image covers are still perfectly fine for older devices
    • Not sure about CSS vs just tables. I think at least my Darwin 4 works fine with CSS formatting
