Can you add fuel consumption prediction for enemy
ships? It should be easily calculable based on ship mass,
hull type, number of engines, etc. Since engine tech is
likely unknown, you could have an engine type cycle-
though list the same was as beam types for minefield
sweeping.
Naturally this estimate could be incorrect if the ship in
question changes mass somehow (beam transfers, mkt,
jettison, etc). Nevertheless I think it'd be useful for
Crystals and Privateers to know how much fuel it would
take for ship X in space to move to the nearest planet
for example, at least based on current ship mass.

you can do this. Select the enemy ship, enter distance mode
(space) and set waypoint to the planet you want ... et voil,
the consumption.

Indeed. BUT that only works if the enemy ship has Warp >0, if
the ship is at Warp 0 you get nothing. So I stand by my
request (you can call it a bug if you like :)

Well, i've looked through it and i think i solved it by setting
ships with warp=0 to use a speed matching they engine tech
or transwarp if tech is not know. Now you can use normal
distance-mode to predict consumption.
Will this suit you well or do you want it another way?
Thx for your idea, the more, the better ;)

That should work just fine, thanks!
If it's not too difficult, the ability to toggle through engine
techs (like beam techs for minefields) for unknown-tech ships
would be even better. This would tie in well with feature
request #952689 too.

This is one of 11 feature requests I've submitted in the last
few months, how many more do you want?? ;)

952689 is already on my todo-list, because in one of my
games, i've traded some lizard hissers and want to set mission
to get correct happi-changes.
Then it's enough... well well, thx.
