emacs-bin Binary packages of GNU Emacs, made from its official, unmodified source code (either released versions or development snapshots). The goal is fostering the use of this software package by removing the barrier that could represent the task of building the package. For now, the packages are for MS-Windows platforms. See the file 'etc/mingw-build-recipe.txt' for details on how these packages are made. Each package contains exactly what "make install" produces. Therefore, even though they have support for optional libraries, the binaries of those libraries are not bundled. See the file 'share/emacs/VERSION/README.W32' (in the binary package) for instructions on setting up a working runtime environment. Old archives might be removed at some time, to free up storage.
