Potentially, a very useful tool. I tried to use it for renaming directories containing photo's, created by different programs. Some had file patterns yyyy_mm_dd and some had yyyy-mm-dd. Creating find and replace regular expressions was straight-forward. Renaming worked fine. However, the usability is not very great. Here are some problems, with some suggested improvements. 1. The program only works on a single folder. An options to apply to all files and folders in a subtree would be very useful. 2. Renaming to an already existing name, causes an error. Options to overwrite files or merge folders could be useful. I have used the program in Windows 7 on a Intel Core 2 1.9GHz. The file system was either a local 500GB SATA drive or a 1TB Sata drive in a NAS (Excito Bubba). The following apply to the latter only. 3. Folders in the folder tree are not sorted alphabetically. 4. Responsiveness is sometimes very bad. The NAS is not very fast and the GUI is unresponsive while waiting for the NAS. Examples: While typing a regular expression, this is applied to the current file list at each key stroke. A new key stroke could better cancel the processing of the previous one. 5. Navigating the tree is very slow as well. The main cause of this may be the NAS, but the program shouldn't be this sensitive to slow remote file system access.
