RED searches and deletes empty directories recursively below a given start folder and shows the result in a well arranged tree. Further you can create some custom rules for keeping and deleting folders. Empty files in directories can also be ignored.

get simple tools to remove empty directories

Very good application. For optimal performance some config options needs to be changed tho. I did these 2 config changes: - Set Pause between each delete process to 0ms - Set Delete mode to Delete directly After these 2 changes the deletion is super fast, before these it's super slow.

The UI is good and it works well for clearing some folders, but I'm finding a huge memory leak in Windows 10 Pro 20H2. Clearing a lot of folders got me to 30GB on file Explorer, then the graphics driver crashes and the PC runs out of memory. Also the file deletion is extremely slow. It seems to delete folders from the bottom of the tree one by one rather than the top of a tree which only contains empty folders. As a non-programmer, its way better than I could and I thank the author, do it dies needs some fixes to work well in Windows 10 I think. Thanks

In a small company you have to save money, but you also need to have BACKUPS and centralized common info. RED is very useful in controlling laptops, portable drives and cloud storage. It's amazing what problems OneDrive can cause if it's put on a laptop or portable disk for example. OneDrive DOCS today had 1873 EMPTY folders. RED managed to delete all unnecessary ones! If I had to do that manually, I think it would have taken a lot of time, and I've probably not found all confusing empty folders. Thanks a lot to hx74!

Very helpful, no need to bother removing it manually. With this all the empty folders are gone, clean and tidy!
