So my suit arrive a few weeks ago and I was waiting for a weekend with an event when I was free with the plan being last frolic but when  relaxingdragon1 proposed going to mini-golf I couldn't resist bringing it.

I was super thrilled with the positive comments I got.  beetlecat did a really fantastic job making it.

Ok so I'm bad at this whole posting thing ... but with this weekend coming up I thought it deserved a mark in my Journal.

This weekend will mark my 1 year anniversary with  well-red-panda. It's been a remarkable year for me and a turning point in general in my life. I wanted to thanks all my friends who have been (And will continue to be part of it).

Also I wanted to thank  relaxingdragon1 for the really fantastic artwork by  KaeMantis.

This weekend I had a great time with Phineas at Great America theme park. Rides, food, company all fantastic. I got a fast pass so no lines which was great.

And tails ... they had ringtails as prizes and for sale (not particularly high quality but ... ). I like tails but is this a thing now for the general population (wearing tails).

So I'm sitting in the airport waiting to fly out to GenCon. (Not a furry con but a table top roleplaying convention I'be been going to for years).

I'm very much looking forward to seeing old friends roleplaying (I still haven't found a group since I've moved out here ... mind you I haven't been looking to hard).

I'll try and post a con report (because it's fun) when I get back.

So Califur was a blast for me. It had some slow moments but I'm pretty sure that is true of any Con.

For me there where a couple of high points

- Day 0 pool party it was low key with only a dozen furs and so I got to chat and meet a bunch of new furs and it was very very fun and enjoyable

- I meet several of the people in the fandom I've only ever followed online before and got to have a chat (not just a brief hello) with all of them. That was so awesome (I tried not to be to much of a fanboy around them)

- Actually danced. I've only really ever really done the I can dance shuffle and this con I decided to push my boundaries so I was jumping up and down and try new things. I probably didn't look to coordinated (that will come I'm sure) but had a blast and I was the last one dancing when they extend the dance hours.

- Badge art. I got the most fantastic badge ever (I will post it once I get a chance to scan it in (must go into work early to borrow the scanner ...)

- Got to wear a fursuit for the first time ... I was in Searge's (spelling mistake ... sorry I really bad with names). And that was an experience :)

I also got a few other odds and ends of artwork (I really great print of a fennec ... ok I may be partial to fennecs but ...). I also got some more fridge magnets I love magnets.

So all in all a really positive experience for me.

So last weekend at frolic was fantastic. It was less crowed and a bunch of people I know weren't there but that just means I got to meet a lot of new faces had some great conversations has a great dinner.

This weekend is bowling which should be fun.

Then I'm taking off to Mexico Thursday and then back just in time for Califur. With my birthday and travel the second half of May is going to be fun if a bit busy.

Warning this mt ramble :) I am somewhat drunk but that just means I'll be extra honest with the post ...

So I got my promotion today engineer to senior engineer. At random me ans some co-workers on a neighbouring team had some (more than we should have) scotch, bourbon and whiskeys then we went to dinner and returned back to work singing disney songs at the top of our lungs (I mat have prompted but they joined in :) )

A lot of my posts are very positive mostly because since I've started going to events in the community I feel like I've found home (perhaps after the newness wears off I won't have a ridiculous smile in my face at all the event .. nut I hope not). I find it fantastic and shocking how similar I am to other furries, hugs (something I had to be taught out of as a child), disney movies, geekery,plus of course antro art,

Anyways I thought I'd share my good day and my perspective with you all. Thanks for being awesome,

So I went to games/movie night and had a blast.

Chatted about basically everything for a while and found so furs who share my love of folk music (or at least irish folk music)

I saw frozen for the first time (What an excellent Movie Disney can still make them). My only regret was I hadn't seen it before so I couldn't sing along with the 20 or so people in the room (who ever sat behind me and to my left had an excellent voice by the way)

Then played one of Small World (Which I haven't played in years). It was very fun.

All in all a fantastic end to the week.

So I've been meaning to write this for a while.

So I went to FC in Jan it was my first con and it was fantastic but I kind of stuck to myself.

Better yet however was my trip to BLFC I drove up with Amenophis who introduced me to everyone (I'm really bad with names but I am trying to learn all of them).

I went to a couple of movie nights at his place and at Relaxing Dragon's and had a blast.

Finally I just went to Frolic for the first time and had fun I didn't do a lot of dancing but I chatting with a bunch of people about basically everything and of course got to watch the fantastic fursuiters dance :)

So I wanted to say thank you to all the people I have met so far and I hope to see you around.
