General | Posted 10 years agoHoly heck you guys! I will have to close my commissions till I work through this backlog! I never thought I would have to do this, but to be honest it's pretty awesome. I will make a journal once I re-open. and I will still be open for quotes. I expect that I will be finished with my current queue by July.

IFC outing, Whoozfurs wanted!

Okay you guys! jay-tiger and lunasparkle are putting together a suit outing on Friday or Saturday (still looking into the best times as far as programming and events are concerned) during IFC!
We have one photographer so far and several suiters and handlers wanting to join! All are welcome to come and there are three of us so far with large vans that can transport up to 8 in each (may be a little crowded if this happens) but there is transportation if you do not have your own!
We will be going to the downtown's Monument Circle and walking around :D
Lunasparkle will keep you all up to date and we hopefully can get the IFC staff involved as well and help promote the event! It would be great to get a real interest going with this! I hope to see you there!

When did you get into fursuiting?
In 2008, when I was 13 years old. I saw a rerun of CSI and googled "furries" out of sheer amusement and curiosity. I then found out that furries weren't orgy fiends, furries are awesome! I found Timduru's videos on youtube of fursuit raves, and I was hooked. I wanted to be a fursuiter. When I saw how expensive fursuits are, I was determined to make my own.
What fursuit-related sites have you ever signed up for?
Fur Affinity, Weasyl, Inkbunny, and SoFurry. My username is ratcoffee across the board. I only really use FA, though.

What defines your fursuit performance style?
Coffee is me, so I just do whatever I want. I try to be outgoing, happy, bouncy, but I can also be a sneaky lil rat!
Do you practice other styles/have you tried other styles in the past?
I try to do different things. like being silent and pantomiming, but it seems like when I fursuit I always end up just talking to everyone and having a great time.

What do you like most about your fursuit?
I love my fursuit. I have only had to add a couple things to her since she was made, and I still love her to bits. I guess I would say that I like the handpaws the most. They are minky fabric and have great dexterity.
What do you like least about your fursuit?
Blind spot. Oh the blind spot. My eyes get used to the tunnel vision and then it feels disorienting to take the head off. The head is also a little hard to zip now that I have long hair. I made her when I had short hair, so now I have to be super careful to keep my hair from getting caught in the zipper. x.x
Have you ever considered taking commissions for fursuits?

Are you looking to pursue a career in fursuits/mascots?
I would absolutely LOVE to be a fursuit maker as a full time job.
Who do you like performing for the most?
Non-furries. I had an awesome time at Wizard World Comic Con because people loved my and jay-tiger 's suits. At a furry con, it seems like you are just another face in the crowd.
Who do you like performing for the least?
Super young kids. I make them cry on accident and it makes me feel bad. Once I stepped on my sister's toddler.
Who would you absolutely refuse to perform for?
If someone is heckling me I don't see why I should try to perform for them. I haven't been in this situation yet and I really hope I don't have to deal with any rude people in the future.
What is your purpose for fursuiting?
To have fun and spread the love! I mostly suit at cons and furmeets, so it is fun to mess with other suiters and just have a good time.
What suit do you use most?
I only have one fursuit, Coffee!
What suit do you use the least?

How would you rank your fursuit performance?
Average. I am nothing special but I try to have fun with it.
Do you believe there is such thing as “bad performance?”
Yes. A beautiful $4000 fursuit may look great, but it won't look so good just standing there looking at the ground. I like to see people try to bring life to their characters.

What do you think you could stand to improve on?
My performance has a lot to be desired. I also am constantly improving on making fursuits that look good and are durable. I want to be able to make suits that people want to buy.

Other than selling really ugly, poor quality suits on furbuy when I first started, no.

In 2008, when I was 13 years old. I saw a rerun of CSI and googled "furries" out of sheer amusement and curiosity. I then found out that furries weren't orgy fiends, furries are awesome! I found Timduru's videos on youtube of fursuit raves, and I was hooked. I wanted to be a fursuiter. When I saw how expensive fursuits are, I was determined to make my own.
What fursuit-related sites have you ever signed up for?
Fur Affinity, Weasyl, Inkbunny, and SoFurry. My username is ratcoffee across the board. I only really use FA, though.

What defines your fursuit performance style?
Coffee is me, so I just do whatever I want. I try to be outgoing, happy, bouncy, but I can also be a sneaky lil rat!
Do you practice other styles/have you tried other styles in the past?
I try to do different things. like being silent and pantomiming, but it seems like when I fursuit I always end up just talking to everyone and having a great time.

What do you like most about your fursuit?
I love my fursuit. I have only had to add a couple things to her since she was made, and I still love her to bits. I guess I would say that I like the handpaws the most. They are minky fabric and have great dexterity.
What do you like least about your fursuit?
Blind spot. Oh the blind spot. My eyes get used to the tunnel vision and then it feels disorienting to take the head off. The head is also a little hard to zip now that I have long hair. I made her when I had short hair, so now I have to be super careful to keep my hair from getting caught in the zipper. x.x

Are you looking to pursue a career in fursuits/mascots?
I would absolutely LOVE to be a fursuit maker as a full time job.
Who do you like performing for the most?
Non-furries. I had an awesome time at Wizard World Comic Con because people loved my and
jay-tiger 's suits. At a furry con, it seems like you are just another face in the crowd. Who do you like performing for the least?
Super young kids. I make them cry on accident and it makes me feel bad. Once I stepped on my sister's toddler.
Who would you absolutely refuse to perform for?
If someone is heckling me I don't see why I should try to perform for them. I haven't been in this situation yet and I really hope I don't have to deal with any rude people in the future.
What is your purpose for fursuiting?
To have fun and spread the love! I mostly suit at cons and furmeets, so it is fun to mess with other suiters and just have a good time.
What suit do you use most?
I only have one fursuit, Coffee!
What suit do you use the least?

How would you rank your fursuit performance?
Average. I am nothing special but I try to have fun with it.
Do you believe there is such thing as “bad performance?”
Yes. A beautiful $4000 fursuit may look great, but it won't look so good just standing there looking at the ground. I like to see people try to bring life to their characters.
