Happy New Year to everyone. I swear the previous year went by fast. I hope everyone's New Year was great. I had a few snags last year with issues dealing with constant jaw pain that lasted for well into 6 months, which slowed some of my writing and ultimately sent me to the hospital, but that's been resolved, and I recovered well. Things didn't carry out at the pace that I wanted to. Two books were essentially published last year. However, I also managed to publish three audiobooks, and Batrice Crisis was also a very big book, reaching well into the 200,000-word realm. I was quite happy with how it turned out.

Gabatrix: The Batrice Crisis was a major pivotal point in the entire Gabatrix series. It essentially marks the 2/3 point of the entire series, at least dealing with Gabatrix's main story. There are about 8-10 more books planned for Gabatrix in dealing with the primary story before the series will conclude. However, I still have a plethora of other stories planned that will be dealing with Gabatrix, including a prequel trilogy and a few possible side stories as well.

With the mark of the New Year, there are a number of writing projects that I plan on working on. I'm currently writing Gabatrix: The Forgotten, dealing with a brand new alien race, something of a bit of rarity for Gabatrix. This book shouldn't be too long, as it's intended to be more of a breather story after the massive extent of writing the Batrice Crisis. There are a number of writing projects planned for this year. I want to work on Gabatrix: Darin and the Frontier next, which will be set after Gabatrix: The Wheels of Thunder and before Gabatrix: The Last Tank. This is one of the few stories that deals with an event between two books, as there was extensive consideration of how the story would be written, which has now been hammered out. I'm looking forward to writing it and dealing with Earth's Cowboy Captain in action.

There are a number of possibilities that may come forth for this year. I'm considering a fan commission story for Tales of Heroes, though it hasn't been set in stone yet. I am also considering when I will write Starfall and the Tales of Heroes to give myself a breather from Gabatrix and deal with a major event in the Tales of Heroes franchise. It's possible that the fan-commission story will be the Tales of Heroes story that I'll write for this year, and simply keep Starfall on the back burner for a much later time. There is also the possibility that I may start writing the first book of the Aerondight Trilogy, an exciting three-parter story dealing with a 2nd US Civil War/Cold War during the late 21st Century and Stone's ancestor in action, essentially an almost Rambo-like character run amok as the two sides remain locked in a Cold War-like setting. It will be a different change of pace in writing as it's not going to be really anthro-centric and deal far more with humanity, while being an action-packed series of raw anger, gunbattles, tension, revenge, action, sex, drama, war, and more. The Aerondight Trilogy will be part of the Tales of Heroes and Gabatrix universe as well.

Besides the possibilities, there are several other projects coming up this year. Money has been almost raised for Gabatrix: The Warrior of Silence audiobook. I plan on doing what I normally do and giving Warrior of Silence a good final edition overhaul. Thankfully, as the audiobooks progress into the later books, it becomes much easier to do the final editions as there isn't really much work for me to correct and polish out, as my writing has always improved through the years. The GoFundMe Project has always had a number of positive outcomes, as it not only results in the audiobook being made, but also the introduction of soundtracks, artwork, results in hardback editions, and giving the books a thorough run-through before they are submitted to the voice actress. I'm looking forward to having The Cipra Campaign become an audiobook, as I've gotten better at finding composers who can do music pieces.

I will be looking into doing a good update for Gabatrix.net, sometime in a month or two. The website, while operational, has also been neglected. The links still work, but much of my time has been devoted to writing and taking care of other things. One of the big issues with the website isn't necessarily having the time to work on it, but Google itself. Changes in the search engines have made small, lesser-known websites lose their places on the search results. It highly favors the most popular websites, while ignoring the "indie" websites in the process. Google is a system that highly favors its advertising, so it can obviously rake in the big bucks while systematically pushing out the numerous smaller websites at the same time. In the end, the website I've worked so hard on has been essentially tossed to the wayside by other factors. With that said, I will still be looking into doing one major update at least once a year to provide additional links to the new stories, along with the countless soundtracks that have been coming forth for the audiobooks. My hope is that something will be gained from the website in providing information and lore for newcomers and fans alike. :)

Other factors are still being considered for this year, including me gathering the courage to go onto YouTube and possibly streaming or doing other YouTube content. I've seen other writers who have no choice but to start streaming or content creation and let themselves and their stories be known. I can write all day, but without marketing, it will hamper the writing process in itself. My only fear is that becoming a YouTuber or Rumble content creator will greatly distract me from the writing process I've established over the years. Regardless of whether my YouTube content is very good or just sucks, the books need to be heard. In any case, know that your support always matters. The GoFundMe is always there.
