Heehee! This is something I've written into many of my dragon characters: a tongue that is sticky when extended, but once back in the mouth becomes slick again, releasing anything clinging to it. A perfect hunting tool.

Very nicely drawn! I can imagine this as part of a sequence in which begins with hundreds of humans gathered in the great hall of a huge castle for a wedding or coronation or something, and then everything stops when they here some ominous noises outside. A big stained glass window ts above their heads blasts open and this big tongue starts trapping people a dozen at a time, like this was an anteater attacking a termite mound! This would be a classic strip if you did something like that.

Your attention to detail is absolutely amazing, i have attempted at drawing something of this scale before, it is really difficult, im guessing you used a crocodile as reference?

No reference used for this particular pic, just a lot of time.

Scales aren't inherently difficult to draw, its just a matter of making yourself take the time to do them.
