Eric Gudvar - Character Detail
Righty-oh-then, in the build up to the launch of the first chapter of the sequel to the story 'A Place to Belong' I have decided to post a brief back story form some of the more important characters that appeared in the story, not only giving you a quick reminder of the major events that they played in the story, but also extending it into their lives before the story began.
I will be posting them in alphabetical order so now it is the turn of the elder falcon Eric, a kind hearted old bird who is the glue that holds their unorthadox family together.

Pre-Story
Eric is a lifelong merchant, travelling far and wide across the tribal lands to find and sell new wares. After many long lonely years on the road by himself he came across a tiger looking for work. Something told him that this tiger wasn't just some simple sell-sword looking to make a quick bit of coin, and he had learned to trust his instincts.
He hired Aceh and despite their differences at first, they became friends, companions and even on occasion lovers. They found something in each other that they had both been missing, not love... not in the usual sense, it was a bond. They came to regard each other as family. They have travelled together ever since, and over the sixteen years they have been together they accumulated several others into their small tight-nit family of outcasts.
First it was Jason and Michael, two stallions who wanted to escape their homeland so that they could realise their desire to be able to be together as lovers. Next they found a young runaway fox, so young that despite what his heart told him he felt he should return him to his home, but he decided to trust his instincts and allowed the kit to stay with them; a choice he has never regretted. As time rode steadily on their little family became closer, travelling the lands and living life how they wanted.
'A Place to Belong'
Upon finding Malakye, injured and unconscious in the middle of the road they were travelling early one morning, Eric took him in and tended his injuries. Knowing that doing so would put their group into danger, due to the fact they were deep in wolven territory, and the well known hatred of the wolves for any dragon. He simply couldn't leave another being to die slowly, when he knew he could help them.
After spending some time with Malakye he felt something for him, a paternal instinct of sorts, that drove him to care for the dragolf as a parent might. He educated Malakye, fed him, treated his injuries and gave him a warm place to sleep until he was ready to go his own way. Much to Eric's delight Malakye wished to remain with their group, becoming the newest member of their little family.
Eric could not help but pity the dragolf, despite his attempts to give him a better life and knowing that he could never fully contemplate the harsh life that Malakye had had growing up in a village where his existence was despised, life continued to be cruel to him.
The dragoness that Malakye had fallen for was murdered before his very eyes, he lost control of himself during the wolven raid of Rengilar. Something which seemed to haunt Malakye, not knowing why he lost control, and almost drove the dragolf to depression.
But despite the obvious dangers Malakye posed to both himself and their group, Eric never considered abandoning him. He would continue to help him in any way that he could, no matter what the cost, because that is what family is for.

I have now looked at all the charecter posts, and i f***ing love them. I do think i have problem i had with the text colour as it present here too. The colours are simply too bright and that's what can cause some reading problems. If possible i would recommend you to make the colours a darker variant. It is up to you of course.
One thing i would like to point out however is that you forgot to change the final line of the orange text.
It refers to Cody not Eric. That is something i really recommend you adjust.
Otherwise keep it up and i can not wait for the sequel.

Do you have a white background? I use the black and forget that others do use the white one. I will have to find a colour that is good for both black and white as darker colours become difficult to read for those using it. (One benefit of SoFurry is that you can change between white and black easily with a simple click of a button.)
There are five more character summaries, and I plan on posting one per day and then (If everything goes well) I will post the first chapter of the sequel on Saturday.
And thanks for pointing that out, I thought I had changed Cody's name, obviously not, I'll do it now.
